I grew up in Bethesda, MD about a mile from Holton-Arms and a few miles from Georgetown Prep. My sister, my step-sister, and a few really good friends went to Holton during the time period that Dr. Ford alleges she was assaulted. I heard multiple stories back then about the parties, the drinking, the drugs, and the "trains" involving the private school crowd. Neither of my sisters or my friends had that happen to them but they know girls who did.
The boys from Prep and the other nearby all boys private schools were notorious for this behavior then and now. No parents around, school administrators that ignore, friends that lie and cover up, it's not new. And an overall culture that allows the "boys will be boys" mentality to continue.
Is Judge Kavanaugh guilty? I don't know. But if he is I would not be surprised.

If there’s confirmation of the allegations and his nomination is withdrawn or he’s voted down, he returns to the DC circuit. I grew up in Bethesda, MD about a mile from Holton-Arms and a few miles from Georgetown Prep. My sister, my step-sister, and a few really good friends went to Holton during the time period that Dr. Ford alleges she was assaulted. I heard multiple stories back then about the parties, the drinking, the drugs, and the "trains" involving the private school crowd.
Neither of my sisters or my friends had that happen to them but they know girls who did.
The boys from Prep and the other nearby all boys private schools were notorious for this behavior then and now. No parents around, school administrators that ignore, friends that lie and cover up, it's not new.
And an overall culture that allows the "boys will be boys" mentality to continue.
Is Judge Kavanaugh guilty? I don't know. But if he is I would not be surprised.

So, your compromise is "hey, you get the job but you can't do the job until we decide if you're fit for the job or not".
Whereas in the real word people don't get a job until the ones doing the hiring are convinced they are fit to do the job.
There's no justifiable reason to rush the vote. There are plenty of reasons to delay the vote.
