Yesterday I started getting this sinking feeling in my tummy and a rush of goosebumps here and there....I feel it....I mean I really feel it.....THEY ARE ABOUT TO PREMIRE THIS IN BOSTONE(the one I'm especially feeling) OR CAMDEN! AHHHHHH!!! I really, really feel it. HOLY SHIT! What's gonna happen to me B??? Please say some prayers for me you guys.

    :o

AHHHH!!! THEY PLAYED IT AT BOTH shows! BOTH!??? AND premired in BOSTONE??? *just got chills*

This song live???? I can't even get into it right now.........imagine everything we love about it x a million......no, it's beyond anything we can possibly imagine. Nothing can prepare you guys for this. WOOOW! :o *slaps self* Was this for real????? I am still in euphoric shock. No joke. BOSTONE II was THE SHOW and having it premire there??? My good god. It was perfect. I couldn't believe it was happening. It was too fuckin beautiful for words. Ed's voice is dead on!!! To hear the sweet ass/romantic ass words sung directly into your ears, and to feel the beeeautiful voice rise and fall and this *I'm week in the knees* gorgeous guitar humming through you?!?! :o Oooh my god! Just when you think you can't possibly love a song anymore deeply than you already do.....whew! Just when you think the beauty couldn't possibly be anymore overwhelming if it tried!? DAMN! As soon as he got to the ending part I lost it....tears of severe ectasy and "this is WAY TOO FRICKIN GORGEOUS I'm about to puke"/"is this really happening" tears started running down my face. *heart caves in* It was too much to bear. My body was forced to sway and I put my arms up beside me during "a wave will break on me" Just drinking up every drop of this sweetness. Experiencing the entire song live felt like one giant wave breaking on me. I really can't even explain it right. I wish I could but you'll know what I mean soon enough. :)

I honestly cannot wait until you all get to experience this. It's pure bliss. Ecstasy to the extreme. The after effects of this song were just as intense. Leaves you completely light headed and elevated....as if a PARACHUTE has opened up in the venue and you're just floating all around. :o Once again, everything about this one of a kind beauty is BRILLIANT!!!!

    {{{THANK YOU DREAM TEAM!!!}}}

What a dream this heaven sent baby is and what a DREAM COME TRUE experencing it live was! Jesus!

    wow, i am unbelievably jealous

any bootlegs of it out there?
  • When I first got this album 'bout a month ago, when I got to this song, I literally played it about four times in a row. In my truck, driving down the road... I think I was just a bit overwhelmed and just kept hitting the back arrow.

Comming out of a bad brake up, I think it was just a bit more than I could handle. It's now in my head 24/7. Almost to the point where I need to smash my head in with a brick. I walk around work all day singing and humming it and driving my friends (not PJ fans) crazy.

I was so pleased to be in Boston on the 25th when they played it live for the very first time EVER!

    I litterally wept...

    (previous post)

    Hello Jammers!

I've been trying to post my views of the show for days now but had some problems setting up my account.

Let me first start by saying that I am a true PJ vet.

I have seen PJ at least once (usually more) every time they have played in the Boston area since Lallapalooza II back in 1991.

    That's right... Ninety F%$#ing One!

I flew to Las Vegas in October of 2000 for their 10th B-Day show too! Which, as I'm sure you can imagine, was increadably touching and very emotional and was the greatest performance I have ever seen by any band - And I have seen many... That was - until May 25th at the Boston Garden.

I don't know what it was... I was there the night before too and it didn't seem to compare. As many have said; I believe BI was simply a warm-up... a soundcheck, if you will, to BII. The band just seemed to be in a great, excited and loving mood - coming on almost 20 minutes early and rocking 'till the roof was about to cave in. The croud was electric. The set was dream-like and could not have been planned better (if at all).

It seemed as though the whole second encore was shot from the hip with Ed just jumping around between songs grasping his brotheren and calling audables. Just going with his gut. It was truly beautiful.

They could have played for ten hours if it could be allowed and the crowd would have been right there with them the whole time.

The PJ fan base is a wonderful phenominon. Not seen since the likes of The Dead but much cooler and better smelling.

Anyway, I just wanted to relate this to the younger fans who were there (and there seem to be many - or I just may be getting old) who believe that they saw a true moment in Pearl Jam history and to let them know that they had indeed. Coming from a long-time PJ fan from even before the conception of PJ - (I'm talkin' MoLoBo Yo! I was following Stone and Jeff from even before Ed!) And I'm here to testify. Boston II was like going to church and having God Almighty Herself show up to rock the altar!

Peace and Love to all of you! I'll see you the next time in Boston!

  • Hey chiqui-

You were the first person I ever responded to on this board a couple of weeks ago. 'Member?

Just wanted you to know that I think your little song here is the most beautiful piece that Stone and Ed have written together. I really can't think of anything PJ that compares to it- acoustically. This is absolutely the best "slow" song to date by these guys. There's just something about Stone with an acoustic...

    Eds lyrics are perfect.

Hearing Parachutes live at the Camden II show was amazing. At the end of the song, I turned to my best friend and repeated the last line (see my signature! :) ) and said, "Isn't that beautiful?!" Needless to say, she asked her husband to play the song SEVERAL times on our car ride home...i did not mind at all though. That was my favorite song on the new cd from the first time I played it.

They performed Parachutes during the first Encore at Camden II, and I was fortunate enough to be there with my wife, who also loves the song. We went absolutely crazy as it's one of "our" songs now.

Then, they played Alive a few songs later, which is my favorite song of all time, and I was literally crying while they played it.

    Amazing night all around!!
    You will try.

Oh, I'm so jealous of everyone who has seen this song live! I hope they come back to Chicago soon and play it. But maybe it was better if they didn't play it here this time around. I was going through some pretty depressing things at the time, and I don't think I could've handled the crying for both "Come Back," and "Parachutes."

yup, ATY was stone. i was surprised when i read ed wrote the lyrics, for some reason they felt like stone to me? maybe because of how it reminded me of ATY with that beatles vibe going.

jam i'm with you on all counts....adore is a good way to describe how i feel about this song :)

I also had the feel that Vedder wrote the lyrics.
Like Stone started some of 'em and Ed put his twist into it.
Stone is keeping The Beatles vibe alive!!

i just heard it live!! it sounded ok, ed forgot the lyrics. Wouldn't it be kewl if there were some back up vocals in there? i think it would make the song sound thicker to compinsate for ed's vocal layering in the studio version..

eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I hate that song. I dont care for the new album.
    I'll be back
  • I adore this song. The first time I heard , We were all travelling in the car. After making a detour to stop off and buy the album on its general release date. Any way the kids were messing around and the speakers were playing up.
I heard the first line and couldnt wait to get home and take it all in properly.
I had the words in my hand and just had to sing along.Like many i was blown away by how the song is constructed, I love the way the lyrics flow and sentences continue into the next line "And died" being just one example. Any way so Im crying like a baby but determined to sing. My voice is so out of tune and the lump in my throat was killing me, I eventually succumbed and had to stop. I ran for tissues and sobbed my heart out in to my pillow.
Now thats what I call music!!!
Thank you PJ so much...for inspiring my life, and always making me see whats really important in my life.
And we're all allowed to dream of the next time we touch.

It's even more touching when Ed sings it live, puts his hand over his heart and points toward the family section when he gets to the part about "difference in my life now I've found this love with you" - (sorry I don't know the exact words). I'm right there with you on the tears. Several of their songs are so poignant and beautiful, not to mention relevant to situations many people have been/are going thru. Thanks for relating how you felt, I feel the same - especially hearing songs live in concert. What a dolt I can be! crying at a concert!
