Im finally starting to like this song, its the only one on the new album that took a bit to grow on me. I think its probably cause im not a Beatles fan and like everyone else mentioned, this is heavily influenced by them.

i read it as "until you", as: 'i would have fallen from the sky and hit the ground hard and croaked had you not shown up in my life'

Can't get over it!!!!! If this isn't one of the most painfully romantic/gorgeous/honey sweet songs out there then I don't know what is! It really does remind me more and more of Thin Air as far as that feeling, ya know? *floats* It captures love. It IS love. Love in the form of a song. *sigh* And to have these breathtaking words sung by THIS voice? Excuse me? *faints* I can't believe it. Again, too gorgeous to be true. The way it constantly rises and falls is so, soooo beautiful. Constantly gives me chills and makes me "aw" outloud! The timing is way unique and all over the place too. Man. There's just so much to love here. It gives love...and we give it back. Round and round we go. SUCH a unique beauty.

Once I hear the line "parachutes have opened now" i think of the jelly fish scene in Finding Nemo, and it's like the protagonist bounces from the top of one parachute to another, and it seems very pink and candy coated, and I totally miss the point. I just can't get those jelly fish out of my head when I think of /see a parachute.

I still don't know if the protagonist feels it's time to move on, but is thankful for what good was found in the relationship.

does anyone know which beatles song this sounds the most like? i can't place it....someone mentioned 'across the universe' it does have a hint of that, but it has an air of an older song, perhaps one that had just john singing? help me out...i'm going nuts trying to figure this out haha

As you know, I've not heard the album at full volume..... BUT

This is my favorite song on the album right now. It is absolutely beautiful. It has been awhile since a song or lyrics has moved my like this song has.

from the first time i heard the album it jumped out like a mother fucker, i love this song one of my favs on the album....was really suprised when a friend of mine (die hard PJ fan) sed for him it was the worst song in the album....

B! This is driving me nuts too! haha. I can't place it either. Across The Universe is definitely there. I will say that it does slightly remind me of Blackbird though...as far as the excessive gorgeousness and mainly the rises and falls. Also feel some Here Comes The Sun & little bit of If I Fell In Love With You(?????) seeping through. There is for sure some oldschool beauty there. Still can't quite perfectly place it though.
