Just send Rodman over to negotiate ... Putin has Segal as a special envoy to the US. Trump can make Rodman a special envoy to NK ... and that likely wouldn't be the most bazaar thing Trump has done...
Does anyone else suspect that this NK "deal" is the part of some sort of set-up by China/NK/Russia to give Trump a tee-ball and further legitimize/strengthen his hold on the USA?
I suspected that they were being fed the materials and technologies to upgrade their delivery systems and weapons from China and/or Russia (I said this a few years ago). There was a huge uptick in progress and testing frequency, as well as rhetoric.
And then the sudden 180 turn by a "leader" who was the product of generations of despotic and isolationist family members.... who seemed to be even more brazen than his father and grandfather. Him and Trump traded various irresponsible and childish barbs... All of the sudden, "poof" Kim wants to meet, all smiles, starts dismantling/decommissioning nuclear sites. Hugging SK leadership. Meeting with the American president, apparently ready to hammer out a deal (and reports say they may have already made most of the progress without meeting yet)...
It just seems very fishy and easy.
Putin on the ritz pulling strings for a PTape or Pcubed. Not to be confused with 3D.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea said Thursday it will never unilaterally give up its nuclear weapons unless the United States first removes what Pyongyang called a nuclear threat. The surprisingly blunt statement jars with Seoul’s rosier presentation of the North Korean position and could rattle the fragile trilateral diplomacy to defuse a nuclear crisis that last year had many fearing war.
The latest from North Korea comes as the United States and North Korea struggle over the sequencing of the denuclearization that Washington wants and the removal of international sanctions desired by Pyongyang. The statement carried by the North’s official Korean Central News Agency also raises credibility problems for the liberal South Korean government, which has continuously claimed that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is genuinely interested in negotiating away his nuclear weapons as Seoul tries to sustain a positive atmosphere for dialogue.
The North’s comments may also be seen as proof of what outside skeptics have long said: that Kim will never voluntarily relinquish an arsenal he sees as a stronger guarantee of survival than whatever security assurances the United States might provide. The statement suggests North Korea will demand the United States withdraw or significantly reduce the 28,500 American troops stationed in South Korea, a major sticking point in any disarmament deal.
