    That said, there have been rumors of this floating around elsewhere.  Some are speculating that NK is doing this to save themselves from the economic collapse that could result from their isolation.  Some say, yes, it is a ruse.  Who knows?  It's hard to be certain about anything these days.  I'm skeptical as all get out but I truly hope this is for real.

    I would not doubt what you're saying about the timing and Trump to be true.

    At least there is a line of communication that is positive that also involves the South Koreans...once again some Americans are again being arrogant ... the South Korean government is pushing this agenda ahead as well.  Lets not forget the people of South Korea, maybe they'd like these talks to happen to bring some stabilization to the region.  The entire world doesn't revolve around whats best for the US.

    Time will tell. Let’s give it a chance to unfold, no? 
    Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see nothing more than peace between the two sides and the North Korean people to improve their quality of life. I just don’t have a lot of faith in Team Trump Treason to derail it out of some narcissistic sense of not getting enough credit, being dissed or having to give too much up. Let’s admit it, he hasn’t shown himself to be a stable negotiating partner and he’s already tweeted about walking away. Further, there’s a gnawing thought that he’s being played by Putin and Xi. Why would that be?

    ^ I actually liked him saying that he would walk away from the meeting if the talks weren’t fruitful. It shows N Korea that he’s there to do business and if they intend on jerking around, then there’s no sense in wasting time. It’s either agree to de-nuke or don’t bother at all. I’m not saying he’s handled the situation perfectly but this is the most progress we’ve seen. Let’s all hope it continues.

    I don’t think Kim is going to denuke. Nukes are what got him a seat at the table. I hope you’re right but I’m a skeptic. Plus, Bush reneged on our part of the previous bargain so I’m not sure I can trust the repubes to follow through on our side. We’ll see.

    If for whatever reason Not Korea abandons its nuclear ambitions then thats a good thing ... I could careless what presidential watch it happens on.  The arrogance come from the US somehow thinking they  can tell other countries they can/can not have nuclear weapons.  So far in history, only one country has demonstrated a willingness to use them...

    Rome was not built in a day.  This is obviously a complex situation.
    Trump is very serious about this.  He's not fooling around.
    A few months ago alot of people thought he was going to get us all nuked via tweeting.
    If you actually care, you should hope that this works.  Maby it won't work out at all, and then it's back to the drawing board. But you shouldn't root against it because you hate Trump & can't stand the thought of Trump racking up some wins.
    Do you at least hope for a better more stable NK?

    The issue I have with Team Trump Treason is they have openly stated they want to abandon the deal with Iran. Not sure I’d trust them with any nuclear deal.

    You didn't stop them from getting nukes ... North Korea developing nuclear weapons got this meeting going ... I am under no illusions here, if the US and the South Korean want a nuclear free Korea it is going to come at a cost, now lets see if the Donald is willing to negotiate a deal or give them a take it or leave it offer. that's what will be interesting.  I'd like to see the west offer him 30 billion and exile to a country of his choosing if that mean a united and free Korea that can come without the loss of more lives ... unfortunately dictators and politicians hate losing control.

    Its not that I hate the guy so much I don’t want to see him rack up some wins, I just don’t have any confidence that after a year and a half, Team Trump Treason is going to suddenly act presidential and get serious about the issues facing this country. It’s still all about him and whatever makes him look good. I have zero faith in his ability to understand the issue as it relates to Korea and even less in his ability to negotiate anything, based on his performance thus far. I have yet to say, or hear any elected democrat say, “our number one priority is to see this president fail.”

    If it was easy, it would have been done a long time ago & wouldn't still be a big problem today.
    Understanding the issues?
    How is it possible then to even be talking about negotiating with NK at this point.
    No president prior has had a sit-down meeting with the leader of NK.  (I grant you that it hasn't happened yet & maybe it still won't happen.)
    Give it a chance.

    Who else do you know of right now, is in a position to mabey (I stress the word Maybe)
    do this?  You act as though it's easy peasy.  Take the blinders off man, he's not the bafoon you think he is, or are hoping for.
    Trump didn't go to rocket man & ask for a meeting.  Rocket man is feeling the heat, from all of the sanctions & came asking Trump for a meeting.  If it occurs, it's historic.
    From time to time, one of the most liberating things you can do for yourself is to be able to admit when you are wrong.
    Admit it, if this comes to pass & NK backs down a bit or de-nuks, thats a good thing. If it doesn't, then it's back to the damn drawing board.
