just an observation,,i believe the year all change with this band and become HUGE after that was 2011..the dude, who had the idea of pj20 needs to gets his  statue outside 10c-pj headquarters..
the band went big and all change, for music intusrty and how fans listen and pay attention to bands ..pj went out there and said,,hey..we out here 20 years now and we have huge history and future,.,all change after that,,all knew them after that, all want to see them playing ,all want to book them,,the way they tour .they sold out huge palces and venues,10c change, the stage gear,merch..ALL went huge.more organized, more pro0ffecional,.and same goes with eddie solo as well.
.the band made specific choices where to play, with who other artist will go on stage,in festivals philly 12,ny 15 some exable, big ballparks in usa and crazy huge stadium like san siro, roma etc. sold out as well..im saying all this cos when dates and venues are out soon,,u will undestand how huge name is eddie vedder in music in our times and all want to see him,,well deserved to eddie and the band..
they worked really hard and now is up there with the top of the top worldwide
Wow.. So what can we expect?? !
More festivals! If Eddie can sell out 50,000 plus at Firenze he can make a killing in other countries too.

    Wuhlheide pretty please!?  =)
  • Saying they are too big is the reason they aren’t touring and are selective? I don’t buy that at all. They’ve played 4 US cities in 3 years and one album in a decade. I’m not sure they are as “huge” as some of us think they are. Yes they can sell out stadiums I’m Seattle, Boston, Chicago. And probably in Philly in NYC if they wanted.
I’d say they are following the stones path on the downhill run of their career but the stones are recording and touring way more than PJ.
I do agree that once PJ20 happened, I think that was the band peaking.
Shows are still great and I’ll still go to shows and enjoy it for what it is.
They’ve lost a desire to experient as a band and try new things. And that’s ok, it happens.
Good for Eddie on selling out festivals and playing corporate gigs.
Hooefully at some point in the future he’ll want to create music and play with the band that got him here.
I mean even seeing Eddie solo is getting a little repetitive with no new album. But happy for those who get shows.

I've seen Ed three times now. Manchester in the Apollo in 2012, Dublin and Cork in 2017.  The Apollo and Cork gigs were very amazing and so enjoyable.

I did not enjoy Dublin as much. Even though our seats were just off the main floor (second row), the venue (the old Point Depot) was too big to really enjoy it with people talking constantly and in and out for drinks.  It just wasn’t the same, so there is no way I would go to a festival to watch a solo acoustic gig.

They can. They choose not to. They choose not to make music. They could sell out 10 nights at Madison square garden if they wanted. They don’t have a desire to be creative anymore. I say they, i do think some band members want to be creative and experiment. But not all. It’s sad but the truth. That’s what I’m saying. Hence no new music.

Jeff wants to record more but in the past we've heard that he hates to tour. Is the opposite true with Ed? He wants to tour more but isn't interested in recording?

I guess the bigger question right now is Innings Fest. Is that truly a one-off show or is he about to announce spring U.S. dates? That more than Europe in the summer would kill my hopes for any new music this year.

Does Jeff have kids? Tours are great family vacations (obviously.)

There’s clearly a disconnect somewhere with the band. What does it matter if they have kids? Touring can take 4-8 weeks of an entire year. And that’s a light schedule. And like you said, kids can go with them. The family excuse I am not buying at all. Until then I guess Eddie will play a bunch of covers and close with Hard Sun.

  • Yeah it's increasingly looking like the days of year-in, year-out extensive tours are done. I've made my peace with it, though. Might fly out for an Eddie show this year but what I really want is that new album. And I thought the wait for Lightning Bolt was tough...

Ya I would really love for them to be 100% transparent when they announce the Eddie tour and say whether there is more to come this year or not. Not going to happen though.

I totally agree. A drunk asshole ruined the Dublin show for me. Having said that im sure id still go if he was playing a big show in Ireland.

No there will be a handful of regular style shows too. Seems like different cities and venues then 2017 for some countries. I am guessing once all of the festivals are announced we get the info from 10 Club like 2017 in March.
  • meanwhile,.no news about pj tour plans..
