Just picked these up. I’ve had two New Riff barrel proof private picks that were so damn good I had to pick up the rye to taste.

Friend who stopped drinking just donated these to me. There's only a few pours of the Booker's left but I've never had it so I'm anxious to try it.
That's an old Booker's!  I've found that the ones from 2016-2019 are better than the one's released today, but that just might be because my palate has changed.

I offered an Angels Envy to you.   Best one I have had yet was from them.  Enjoy.

Just did a sampling with the master distiller from Savage and Cooke. He started then sold Breckenridge Distilling. Now is partnered with David Phinney famous for Prisoner and Orin Swift wines.

    I've tried four of those!

I'll take the William Larue Weller any day over the rest.  One you don't have is the BTAC Eagle Rare.  I would love to try that one out.

Unlike past years we did not get the ER17.
Sazeracs Brands allocations are getting worse. And we've decided to no longer play their games.

For fun we made an Old-fashioned using the WLW and it was tasty. Hot but tasty.

It's nice that some business' are taking a stand.  The Bourbon Bros are still to blame though.  Just like anything today its all used as currency.

That would be an interesting old fashioned.

I have a few of those in the basement. Weller is so hard to get up in Northern New England. I've heard the Weller 12 year is very good. Weller 107 (not pictured) is a favorite of mine.

Weller 12 to me, is prob one of the most over-hyped bottles out there.  It's just so "meh" and boring compared to the others.  If it had more proof I think it would be better.  Full Proof, CYPB, 107, SB are all waaaay better.  12 only beats out Special Reserve.  I haven't had the WRW, but I'm sure that crushes all of them.

I haven't been able to get a hold of a bottle of CYPB, but I agree with full proof, single barrel and 107 being solid bottles. I figured the 12 year would be kind of like Elmer T Lee. A little over hyped because of the lower proof.

I do appreciate the lower MSRP for the Elmer Lee and Weller 12. I hate how much bottles of whiskey have gone up.

That William Larue Weller is the best I've tasted.  I liked it more than PVW23.

I lucked into a bottle of Weller CYPB last week. I can't wait to give it a try. One of the bottles I wanted to get a hold of , but never thought I actually get one.

I'm not really sure what you mean by that. Weller 107 was something I could get pretty easy in the past when I was living down in West Virginia years ago. I've tended to lean towards wheated bourbons. The CYPB is something that has been difficult to obtain and resily priced for a while.

You answered my question.  "Difficult to obtain" means everyone, "the kids" are chasing.

Weller line in its entirety is the most over-hyped bottles.  I really enjoy Antique (for $65 max) and the Full Proof was pretty good too.  SR is watery, 12 is bland, CYPB and Single Barrel would be good $65 bottles.  Give me Makers Wood Finishing Series any day of the week.

You are correct. I guess I was feeling a little surly when I responded to your post. It was a bottle I passed up too often in the past.

Thank you for calling me out.  I was being a little bit of a dick in my response to your reply.
