I'm confused....I measure it "as a player in general" also. LBJ > MJ, even if he will never match him in rings. you agree with that?

BTW, I didn't think last night's shot had a prayer

Jordan would not have taken a last place team and make them contenders.

In a few years the CELTICS basketball team will a force (JT#0) in the NBA. I just wish the BRUINS would get their act/play together.

Lebron is incredible...he's obviously one of the best players ever, but Jordan being 6-0 in the Finals is just insane.  Lebron's teams have lost how many times in the Finals?  4 or 5 I think.

But LeBron's teams other than Miami were not the Bulls in those Finals. MJ had a team and Phil Jackson.

Bill Russell went 11-1 in his 13 year career. Not sure their are words  to describe that accomplishment.

Houston looks like ther gonna make another Series in this round not being close.(Unless Utah can come back)

The "as a player in general" means the player.  Lebron is the best player I've seen hands down.  MJ is the greatest though because of what he did in the finals.  It's A really tough dilemma but it's fun to talk about.

So I agree that LBJ is better than Jordan, yes.  I started saying that a while ago by just the things that he accomplished/did as a player.

MJ is the best because when he went to the finals he was an assassin...

My Mt Rushmore is Magic, MJ, Kobe and Lebron.

That whole celtics team were HOF'ers.  It's not a fair comparison.

Lebron did take a few teams that stunk, to the finals.  He is just that good.

The bulls run with Jordan also had a piece of the puzzle that everyone forgets to mention.  Scottie Pippen.  One of the BEST basketball players I've ever watched

He took the 2nd worst team in the NBA from the previous year to the playoffs his rookie year. A team whose number in the win column had declined 3 years in a row.

That's not even the same thing as I believe Shaquile did something of a similar feat but also went to the finals and beat #45 in the playoffs.

Shaqs third year in the league.

Yeah, Shaq took a 21 win team and only missed the playoffs his rookie season by tiebreak.

No Wilt Chamberlain on your Mt. Rushmore? Oscar Robertson?  Or, is your Mt. Rushmore based on players you've seen during your lifetime? (If so, that's a really good list).

I don't even think I could do an "in my lifetime" NBA Rushmore.  How do you take only 4 from:  Jordan, Magic, Bird, Olajuwon, Shaq, Duncan, Erving, Iverson, Kareem, Miller, Kobe, Lebron, Allen.

The reason there is no Robertson is because he won only one title.  No Chamberlin because he had no real competition and didn't win a title until he started playing as a team player(he had Russell, I know but that was only one person).  No George Mikan because there was no one like him at the time so his dominance was unmatched.

To be a "great" or a Rushmore type you had to win more than 2 titles and competed amongst the best of your piers.

Jordan, Magic, Kobe and Lebron all did that.

Bird and Russell were/are hard to leave off that list.  Jabbar created a shot that no one could block so he amassed the most points in history.

I could go on and on...
