I think it says a lot about our political landscape when RYME thinks people that don;t agree with him are "polar opposites". It's what the politicians want you to believe so you keep voting for YOUR TEAM no matter the person or any of the specifics.
The Reps and Dems are not Polar opposites. Sure there are some very big differences in some areas, but mostly similar with different ways of getting the job done. BUt since we've let them convince us they are polar opposites, nothign gets done and they just are always running for re-election.
No I don't believe you can fit a nickel between the two parties. I think they work hand in hand. George HW Bush voted for Hillary Clinton for crying out loud. And I think George W left his ballot blank. They have an establishment club there in Washington (R+D) They can't stand or allow an outsider who is not an ideologue, come into what they believe is there house, & rearrange the furniture. No I don't think people that disagree with me in general are polar opposites. I am not a republican. I'm conservative/independent. Republicans are just as corrupt as the Democrats. This Thread went dormant for a while but somehow it just came roaring back.
Maybe they just can't stand having a mentally disturbed sexual predator in office?
Holy moly you must have forgot about the 90s. 1992-2000? That didn't bother anyone. I don't think Trump has been accused of rape has he?
Nobody knew about that then though, when they voted for him, so your point is moot .... And yes, 3 people have accused Trump of rape: 2 who were 13 years old at the time (so yeah, he's an accused child rapist), and his first wife. Not to mention the other 14 women who accused him of assault. Not sure how you missed that... willful ignorance or deliberate support of someone who you know is a rotten excuse for a human being? Not sure. I find your reaction to my comment totally bizarre. Like Jose said, you seem mad about Clinton, but not about Trump, who is infinitely worse in pretty much every conceivable way in terms of morality. It makes ZERO sense. Are you aware of this hypocrisy?
To be fair, the rape and sexual assault allegations toward trump recieved little coverage by the media before the election. I was really surprised by it. Since getting elected it’s gotten more coverage (except at a couple media outlets).
What do you mean by little? Major national and international news outlets covered it all. Do Americans need to literally be hit over the head numerous times before they understand what's happening? I mean, usually the news reflects what the audience responds to... So what you're really saying, IMO, is that Americans didn't care enough about the story when it hit (and it was a BIG story) for the media to turn it into 24/7 coverage or to make it a major issue while covering the campaign. The media doesn't act all by itself. It does what gets the biggest audience response.
Whatever was driving it, I’m not sure. I can remember a huffpo article about it and one other written piece from a newsite considered liberal(can’t remember which one). I didn’t watch a ton of tv coverage, but I don’t recall it getting a mention there. We even had some posts in here about how little pre-election coverage there was Even on the specific case in NY state that was briefly open in court.
What I'm driving at is that Trump voters fucking knew he was a sexual predator and voted for him anyhow, or 100% deliberately avoiding most of the available information about Trump during the campaign in a concerted effort to not have a reason not to vote for him. I saw SO much about this aspect of Trump during his campaign, on a daily basis, especially on social media, but also on TV and major websites.
Yes, they did. "Unfounded" was a poor word choice on my part as the women stood beofre the cameras or had their attorneys do so to relate their stories. Unproven and with no other witnesses to coorbarate their stories. As such, it was easy for the Team Trump Treason voter to buy into it as its just a smear campaign, someone's paying them to say this, etc. Again, it doesn't make it right and I've always believed that Team Trump Treason is a POS. Like I said, Team Trump Treason voters own it.

There was a lot of coverage of the access hollywood audio tape, for sure. The blanket trump supporter response was to call it locker room talk, normalize it by referencing how it’s men bragging about sex, and then if pushed, talk about Bill Clinton. This is how they reponded at the time and still give this same patterned response now. I’ve had these back and forths with trump supporters over and over and it’s the same thing. I’ve actually been over at the Dave Matthews Band page in that forum a lot lately because there’s way more trump supporters in there than here. I’m still fascinated as to how someone can still support the guy. I do my best to remain respectful, but it’s hard. So many whataboutisms, it’s nuts!
I think I understand completely why many of you are dumfounded that someone here can still support trump. HFD said "gross". Lol I totally get it. Its because your ideals and vision for America are the polor opposite compared to what I want for America. That's why I think you are dumbfounded. Another guy said my comment made him speechless. As long as the conversation is polite, I enjoy chatting with you. My commentary here has definitely ruffled a few feathers, and raises a few eyebrows. It's gotta make it a little more interesting than talking exclusively with people who totally agree with each other. I'm not trying to be combative, I'm just sharing a point of view. I admit that I took a flyer on Trump. I wasn't sure what he was going to do. I knew that he was not a continuation of Obama, and He wasn't Hillary. Benghazi is the biggest problem I had with Hillary. There were two choices on the ballot Trump or Hillary. That was an easy choice for me. I did not like the path that Obama had this country on, and Hillary represented a continuation of that. I did in fact like a few things about Obama. Very charismatic, I thought he had a good personality, I think it's cool that he had a brewery going in the White House. I thought it was cool that he would take time to fill out College tournament brackets. Even though I did not vote Obama the first time around, (based on the issues) when Obama beat McCain, I was happy at least that America had elected our first black president, that was a huge positive for me. Because I don't have a racist bone in my body. But in the end I didn't like the direction Obama was taking this country. We could go on and on about that but I really don't want to argue. As far as Trump goes, I didn't vote for character, I voted based on his positions on the issues that he campaigned on. And so far he's governed very conservatively and has been following through with what he said he was going to do. Even the so-called conservative #never trumper's are having to reconsider, because he's doing what they have been advocating for, for decades. Most conservative president since Reagan. That's what I wanted. The crazy bombastic tweets and things I could do without but I just put up with that s***. You know, all Hillary had to do was to come off more likeable than Trump, & I think she would have won. But then who the hell knows what drives people??

Benghazi!

Two committee hearings where Hillary testified with 20 hours of combined testimony and yet, still no indictment. Four separate repube controlled Benghazi investigative committees with hearings and yet, still no indictments. It must suck when all those dots you desperately tried to connect just end up looking like drunken frat boy spewage on the sidewalk or your great grand father’s sneeze on the sheet of construction paper at the old folks home. But “THEY” get away with it.

I'll take that as a compliment from a guy with 3000+ one liner posts/video shorts, of just pure crap. Mudslinging smelly fool. Liberalizism at it's finest.
Pretty good arm chair quarterback the disgraceful woman that she is. Who bought and paid for the dossier, golden showers bullshit. Thank God we don't have to listen to her every day for 8 years.

I can't believe this thread is still going. The Energizer Bunny is starting to get nervous. Forget about her! I guess let's talk about W next and when he's going to be tried for his war crimes. Maybe Hillary and him can share a cell, oh wait, she wasn't ever president...forget about it!

Former President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton received authorization to take certain household furnishings to their new homes as gifts but will return any items that are found to be White House property, a spokesman said today.
