I find broccoli to be odd on pizza.

IT'S NOT A ROCK AND ROLL ENOUGH VEGETABLE

So what have we got on that there pie? Arugula/rocket, tomato, mushroom and eggplant? Or is that fig? Anything else? Is it a soy-based cheese?
Don't know about the vegan cheese. But it was okey. The brown things is Seitan (wheat gluten?) I think...

  • So sauce on top of cheese...is there any sauce under? Obviously I am pizza deprived having not really noted that or seen it other than in this thread...just curious...
  • Not typically
The variations that I get where the sauce can be on top (grandma, Sicilian) doesn't go sauce-cheese but the other way around.
I think Dankind got a Detroit style pizza (which is delicious!) which also goes cheese first, but I think the cheese is chunks of cheese and that would allow the sauce to get down in there more than the others where they blanket the pizza with grated cheese.
Whatever they do to it, I wish Detroit pizza was served in more places here.

Found an actual Chicago style pizza spot in Nashville. It’s called 312. The thin crust is outstanding and just as good as home. Deep dish was good but could have been taken out of the oven a few minutes earlier. Highly recommend the spot though.

^ Aside from skimping on the pepperoni and the uneven distribution of it, that pie looks absolutely amazing.
  • I had pizza tonight with the 5 year old but it was run of the mill/cheese.
Would be great in places not called NJ/NY.

Bring some Detroit style pizza here to mix it up, some!

I wish the shops in my area did more than just the typical round pies. Not that there’s anything wrong with a round pie, it’d just be nice to have options.
