Very, very hard to comprehend this. Chris was such an icon of music for my (and a lot of our) generation. I am glad that I was able to see Soundgarden last week in Indianapolis. RIP Chris and much love to his family. May they all be able to get through this hard time.

I have TOTD in my car CD player right now, not sure that I can let it play once I go to drive to work. So thankful I got to experience them in Philly last year.

I've always seen Chris as a 6th member of PJ, this is so sad. RIP.
  • Not a fan of SG but no one can deny his talent and overall nice-guy attitude and spirit. He will be dearly miss.  Sympathy to his family and fans, we'll al be listening to him in memory.

Thoughts and prayers go out to his family, as well as the entire PJ family. Truly a sad day, with the loss of an indescribable talent. Say hello to heaven.

so sad, this has affected me more than the loss of any other musician. I really feel for his family right now. Also
know Eddie and Matt in particular are going to be affected deeply by this. such a sad loss of amazing talent.

I cannot believe this shit. Unbelievable. I'm so honored to have seen Chris, in Detroit in 2004 for AudioSlave. Beautiful man, beautiful talent. Whatever demons chased him in recent years, I hope he's at peace.

    Just so shocked.

It's odd riding the train to work. I can hear muffled voices blaring from a few sets of headphones around me. All distinctively Chris Cornell... Soundgarden to my left, Audioslave behind me. Pointed to my ear and nodded to them, heads shaking in disbelief. Truly a sad day, maybe even bigger than I thought the reaction would be.

Wow! Can't believe this. Just praying for him and his family.
  • I'm at my fucking desk at work and I can't stop crying. I had no idea until a coworker told me when I walked in. I will always remember this:
he was playing a solo show in Winnipeg. I had row 2 on the floor. I was finishing my beer in the lobby as he went on stage (this venue allows no alcohol in the theatre). I was briskly walking to my seat, and he was on stage right in front of the aisle way. He looked in my direction.....I waved....he smiled and waved back. I will never forget that. it's those little connections that mean so much.

RIP. There are no words. His voice inevitably led me to PJ many years ago. I was sitting at my desk yesterday, listening to Searching With My Good Eye Closed, marveling at his voice and talent. Can not express how truly devastated . . .

Hoping the elements surrounding this are just sick hearsay.  Illness, death and loss are never easy to deal with, we've been sitting in PICU with my 13 year old son since he suffered a seizure and cardiac arrest on April 5th.  Never want to see anyone leave, but I hope and pray this was natural causes, it would be so much easier on his friends and loved ones.  Peace to a gentle soul regardless.  Love you Chris, wish we would have had you longer.
His eminence has yet to show.

I never really connected to Chris' music, but I knew what I was hearing came from a very talented person. It was always obvious to me that he was a good person. Then when I saw PJ20 (the film), you could really see the heart that beat in him.
Thought to his family. Blood and extended.

Horrible news to wake up to :(

Next to PJ he's probably the artist I've gone out to see live the most.  Soundgarden, Solo, Acoustic Solo, Audioslave, and even ToTD :(   This came as a total shock and gut punch.  :(

So terrible. He was in peak form when I saw him with Temple in San Fran. Lost way to soon. Lots of love to his family immediate and extended.
