It's entirely possible that they're only available in Canada. So sorry, wrong thread, lol.

They look fun; unfortunately they'd kill my son (just look at that lion).
  • So, do you see a lot of SAABs in the states?

I feel like they were more popular in my area in the late 90s. I don’t see them as much as I used to.

    Maybe a Seinfeld effect. Haha.

And obviously they don't exist anymore. Because of GM fucking them up after buying them.

(SAAB was the big industry in my hometown. Now it's Lars Von Trier-movies)

They seemed like they drove for ever. My buddy had one in high school that had 200,000 miles. They went bankrupt in ‘12 or ‘13? Somewhere in that area?

Yeah 2012 sounds alright... I don't remember the exact year. But it was all everyone talked about in my hometown back then. Obviously it affected the town. I guess my town was like the "Fint" of Sweden in a way. I think VOLVO absorbed some of the unemployed though.

Anyways. SAAB was pretty cool. Would have loved to see them survive long enough to make some cool electric models.

Always cool spotting one abroad, or in a Hollywood movie.

On Wednesday, Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) issued a memo to his party’s leadership laying out a step-by-step process for how they can pass marijuana legislation in 2019 should they control one or both chambers of Congress.

I love SAAB.  A buddy of mine had an old 9000 turbo back in the high school/college days.  Pretty sure it had ~300k miles on it by the time it finally crapped out.  You can get a used one pretty cheap these days.

Was the most popular car to steal/Drive for bank robberies in Sweden for a long time. Maybe still. Reliable. And I guess, easy to steal.

Living in Trollhättan, every third car was a SAAB. Just going down 70-80 km to Gothenburg and it looked completely different. To bad the amount of cars per capita wasn't like in Trollhättan, than the company would have survived.

Fuck General Motors. And people not driving SAAB.

Here most pub drinkers here. (The Neanderthal  type)drink lager  from abroad. Guiness  is very popular . I love it.
But we have quite a large older I would say group that drink real ale. Things like London pride. Doom bar. Newcastle brown ale.
But lots of local breweries in every county make wonderful ales. Quite strong . Great winter drink

I stopped drinking 22 years ago. If I was able to have one drink before I died it would be a properly pulled Guinness Stout in a pint. That stuff is like manna.

I've thought about what the measurements would be, like health outcomes, exposure to violence, health care spending, life expectancy, infant mortality, percent living in poverty, etc. but facts don't matter much in these parts.

It says - scoring categories based on electoral process and pluralism, civil liberties, functioning of government, political participation, political culture.

USA falls down the list on political participation alone - not even half of the country votes in presidential elections, nevermind mid terms, etc.

Yeah, I tried to find out, but it looks like you need to register with The Economist to download the whitepaper. Best I could find without registering: "The index, which comprises 60 indicators across five broad categories—electoral process and pluralism, functioning of government, political participation, democratic political culture and civil liberties—concludes that less than 5% of the world’s population currently lives in a “full democracy”. "
