I did edit my post to ask him what the dems are "running on" rather than "stand for." And yeah...I don't really know the answer either. It just seems that every stance is the antithesis of what the republicans want...which I understand to a degree...but it comes off like they have no ideas. Trump: "Caravan bad!" Democrats: "Caravan not bad!" and so on....

Even up here in Canada I hear plenty about what democrats stand for. I suggest you guys find better sources then TV ads and Fox news.
But you have all the answers, so tell me, what are the Democrats running on? Because that's was the question: what are they running on right now during this election cycle? Not "what does the democratic party stand for?" We all know the answer to that.

Protecting medicare.
Stopping voter purges and gerrymandering.
Against rampant irresponsible deficits.
Common sense gun reform.
Against slashing taxes on the ridiculously rich.
Against trickle down.
For DACA and immigration reform.
They are for providing a check on the executive branch.
These are just a few off the top of my head. I listen to a lot of podcasts. A great one is Pod Save America, it's out twice a week. They have democratic candidates on every show who explain what they stand for.
If you had to take an IQ test to cast a vote (something that's actually reasonable- you can't have Simple Jack voting when he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground), Trump would lose in a landslide. His base wouldn't qualify.
