    What in the actual fuck?
Can you believe there’s still two years of this still to happen uhgg
If economy keeps humming, its 6.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to overcook the economy. Check out what they did to the section 179 and bonus depreciation laws. But that stuff swings the other way once the assets pass its accelerated deduction phase. Also check out what they did to the deficit, and what they will be doing to your Medicare if the dems lose the House.

What is a tougher challenge for our leaders is to pry some of the wealth out of the 3 richest families in the U.S.

The economy is only an issue when it's bad.  That's an axiom that continues to hold true.  How many candidates are running on the tax cuts or the economy as their primary issue?  Not very many.  It's healthcare and immigration.
In don’t know about that. Was watching tv late last night....every political ad (Ohio) was a negative add about taxes. Everyone one back to back over 2 cycles. There are a lot running on taxes in Ohio at least

In this area they only thing they are running on is opposition to Trump and sayi g tge republican candidate supports Trump.

What is the Dems message right now besides Trump sucks? What is their platform, agenda, and ideas?

Tucker Carlson posed this same question last night...

    Who cares what Tucker says.

Even up here in Canada I hear plenty about what democrats stand for. I suggest you guys find better sources then TV ads and Fox news.

I'm not suggesting you have to "care" about what anybody says. my2hands asked "What is the Dems message right now besides Trump sucks? What is their platform, agenda, and ideas?" and Carlson asked the exact same question. So maybe my2hands would be interested in watching that video, and that's why I posted it. And then he can agree or disagree with what's said on it.

But you have all the answers, so tell me, what are the Democrats running on? Because that's was the question: what are they running on right now during this election cycle? Not "what does the democratic party stand for?" We all know the answer to that.

I did edit my post to ask him what the dems are "running on" rather than "stand for." And yeah...I don't really know the answer either. It just seems that every stance is the antithesis of what the republicans want...which I understand to a degree...but it comes off like they have no ideas. Trump: "Caravan bad!" Democrats: "Caravan not bad!" and so on....

How do you have a rational conversation with anyone who doesn’t call this out? It doesn’t matter what the Dems platform is because the repubs will just lie about it, continuously. M2H is smart enough to know what the Dems stand for or capable enough to research it but he could pick a candidate and ask because the Dems aren’t running on a national platform. Dems are running on state and district issues, as well as wrapping Team Trump Treason around their necks. And they’re not just claiming Team Trump Treason sucks, they’re explaining why he sucks. And if you need someone else to explain that to you, there’s no hope.

    Protecting medicare.

    Stopping voter purges and gerrymandering.

    Against rampant irresponsible deficits.

    Common sense gun reform.

Against slashing taxes on the ridiculously rich.

    Against trickle down.

    For DACA and immigration reform.

They are for providing a check on the executive branch.

These are just a few off the top of my head. I listen to a lot of podcasts. A great one is Pod Save America, it's out twice a week. They have democratic candidates on every show who explain what they stand for.

I'll never understand why simpletons hate smart people so much. The smart people are the ones that do things like heal them or make advances in agriculture.

If you had to take an IQ test to cast a vote (something that's actually reasonable- you can't have Simple Jack voting when he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground), Trump would lose in a landslide. His base wouldn't qualify.

The problem is that you don't live in the States, therefore you don't see local ads.  The Democratic strategy has been to localize the issues.  I'm in a competitive race in VA-7 and the issue is healthcare on the D side and Immigration on the R side.

Okay, what do you want from me? You asked and I answered. You seemed to already know what they stood for so why did you ask?
I don't want anything from ya. You suggested I should find better sources than TV ads and Cable News and I asked well what do you know? So you seem to know. That's good.

But you have all the answers, so tell me, what does Democratic Party stand for right now...other than Trump is horrible?
I gotta say, I don't know either. mind you, I haven't researched it, but just reading the news here and there I see basically nothing. It's nothing but "vote blue!".
The problem is that you don't live in the States, therefore you don't see local ads.  The Democratic strategy has been to localize the issues.  I'm in a competitive race in VA-7 and the issue is healthcare on the D side and Immigration on the R side.
Yes, this is what I've been hearing for months. Not all candidates are the same, they are not the borg. The strategy is to have a big tent party right now. Candidates more tailored to the district they are running in.

Jeez you are just a caricature of all the liberals that that Trump whips his base into a frenzy over. I can almost see why they buy in. Almost.

I'm not sure if you're calling me a simpleton here but what I'm saying is I "get" where these MAGA-hat-wearing people might be coming from when they complain about smug elitists. And yes, I know the there's no smugger, elitist than Trump. The irony isn't lost on me.

Just so I'm clear here, I'm not trying to be a dick but Tucker Carlson is a terrible human being and I'm always a little bummed out to see his opinion about anything being shared. I'm sorry, I didn't even click on that video, he hurts my brain too much. So nothing personal about you, it's more about him.

Fair enough. We all have people on TV, in music, in sports, etc. that just drive us nuts.

I used to be able to tolerate him when he was on Crossfire I believe.  But when he moved to Fox and discovered that he made more money by being an asshole, I lost any ounce of respect for him.  He is literally the (4th) worst....

Over the past few weeks in Ohio it seems:

R candidates running on taxes and jobs #1, immigration #2 and sometimes on a personal character flaw of the opponent

D candidates running in health care and sometimes on personal character flaw of opponents.

that and the opioid crisis, I almost forgot about that.

And if you need someone else to explain that to you, there’s no hope.
Jeez you are just a caricature of all the liberals that that Trump whips his base into a frenzy over. I can almost see why they buy in. Almost.

If you had to take an IQ test to cast a vote (something that's actually reasonable- you can't have Simple Jack voting when he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground), Trump would lose in a landslide. His base wouldn't qualify.
100% incorrect. You clearly are overestimating the democratic voter pool, we have plenty of low info voters on our side, trust me

I'm not sure that's 100%.  When analyzing party affiliation by education level, it's pretty rock solid that the more education one has, the more likely one is a Democrat.

Are you saying that it’s not obvious why Team Trump Treason sucks and it needs to be explained to voters? Seriously? Then what should we do with the Team Trump Treason voter/supporter? Respect their point of view? I’m at a loss understanding the MAGA crowd. They’re not racist. They’re not stupid. They’re not Christian? So, what are they? Scared?

Nigerian army posts Trump video to justify shooting Shiites

Nigeria's army on Friday posted a video of US President Donald Trump saying soldiers would shoot migrants throwing stones to justify opening fire on a Shiite group this week.
