But yes, this Trump era has taken it to new toxic levels, obviously... not to bring it up again, but that is why i turned off the news... it only reinforces it and provides everyone an echo chamber... foxnews acting like nothing is wrong and demonizing the otherside... msnbc and cnn acting like the fucking world is ending every day... sensationalizing trivial events, and people (Avenatti 2020, for real?)... finger pointing and demonizing the other side.... paid pundits on both sides that are scripted... fuck mainstream cable news, they feed the problem

We have reached a level of political toxicity that is staggering

What has to happen before you think people are right in finger pointing? Just wondering. Like, how bad does Trump have to get do you figure, before it's not elitist for people to direct blame?

I’d say that Trump can’t be blamed for that one but I’m sure some leftist will prove me wrong.
Trump isn't directly to blame for any of them if you want to split hairs about it. He has always done a great job of creating a buffer and playing ignorant when it comes to the meanings of his words. When you pander to white nationalists and racists, it's not like they don't notice. Just like the fuck me eyes you give the random stranger at the bar. No direct overt actions necessary. They know what you want.
Sounds rather tin foil hat time at conspiracy theory story hour.

I don't want to upset you.

Funny how some of you mock memes but then turn around and say that a handful of Russians influenced an election unfairly on social media.  With memes.  Geez, decide already.

Nobody said the people who fall for Russian bot memes or Trumpster memes are smart and unworthy of mocking. It's like you think people here need to respect Russian memes for them to work on people. But I understand why you think so. The memes seem to work on you.

The late 2000s produced the perfect storm for disinformation.

-Technology makes it easier to send targeted messages to people with typically emotional evidence (aka pay per access to thought control)
-Citizens are comforted by uniformity of thought and appearance, and scared of non-uniformity. They work hard to not disprove their preconceived notions, and to actively disprove others' conflicting preconceived notions. They are also overwhelmed by their day-to-day and feel powerless on political plains (aka proud and mentally lazy civilians)
-Politicians and corporations are aligned in doing what's right for their short-term needs (aka selfish, short-sighted fiscal responsibility)
-Laws and processes are convoluted and subject to interpretation (aka ambiguous guiding documents open doors to exploitation)

People should point fingers all they want, as none of this matters any more. We might as well go down happy and stupid as opposed to angry and stupid.

    Gaf?
What happened to 'I like him because he tells it like it is.'
So I guess Trump supporters find it okay when Trump tells it like it is but nobody else is allowed to. Because let's be honest, we've all seen the rallies, you really could categorise half of his supporters as deplorables. (Bad thing to say politically but completely true.)

The irony if right wingers and the recent NPC stuff. You know you’re all following the same script?
I see the irony, still can't help but laugh some times.

Doesnt matter where it began, it's about where it is at now, and what can i do as a citizen to make it better, or at least not make it worse

And to be honest... this all feels like one big poltical cycle since 2008... and the first major "gaf" that i remembee is Obama about clinging to guns & religion... that was a broad brush and put off A LOT of people... and then of course Sarah Palin withnthe "real Americans" nonsense... of course the whackiness about Obamas heritage, intentions, socialism... everyone loved the smash hit, "Birth Certificate" lol... and of course HRC with her comment about Trump supporters being a basket of deplorables or something...

Yeah, more self reflection and less finger pointing are probably a good idea right now
Why do you primarily focus on the libs and their transgressions? I also remember Willie Horton. Do you?
Because thats my "team"... and my team just got beat... and the other team has the majority in every major political spectrum in this county...

Looking in the mirror is a lot more challenging, humbling, rewarding, and effective than staying in the echo chamber, pointing the finger, screaming, and stereotyping "the other side"

You dont grow if you don't challenge yourself
The fact that you've pretty much been acting like everyone here has been doing that is rather insulting and inaccurate.

I never talk to strangers and fuck holding the door open for anyone. Don't they know who I am? I aint got time for that. And if you smile too much, your face will freeze or they'll think you're goofy. Go big or go home. And stay there with the door locked and barricaded.

I said they are either morons, assholes, or both. But that is based on my views about what kind of character it takes to vote for such a person. We can see with our own eyes what people are saying on these boards, showing that everyone here does not do what you're suddenly constantly saying we all do. Me calling you out for this does not exempt me from ever criticizing anyone ever again, especially not Trump voters, lol.

You guys wake up every day just looking for somebody to jump on and yell at or what? lol

Pointing out that the mainstream cable news exists for profit over informing and is toxic offends you? Because those are just simple facts.  I haven't pointed the finger, screamed, or judged anybody. Watch if you want and keep that stress level nice and high over shit that either doesnt matter or you cant control, im not losing any sleep over it. Im simply offering a perspective and opinion, feel free to yell at the screen every night, i dont give AF lol

Halifax, find sonebody else to follow around and parrot, your schtick is tired, bro.

    Nobody is yelling.
And no, "pointing out that the mainstream cable news exists for profit over informing and is toxic" is not even close to what I was saying is insulting. And I very much disagree that you haven't judged anyone.... You were doing it in this post right here. ;)
