Oooohhhhh, this could get nasty! Regardless of whether he was right in doing so, I bet stealing presidential documents and undermining/sabotaging legislation in the way that was mentioned in the letter to NY Times carries some hefty legal consequences...

At least they did their homework. My question for the board, if true if there is such a person, what do they gain by going to the NYT with an op-ed? My follow up, weigh that gain against what could be lost?
It wouldn't surprise me if someone else wrote using that one word, knowing Pence uses it frequently...
Why? I can understand wanting to remain in the shadows, but what would be the reason for impersonating Pence? To undermine any investigation maybe, but still seems like a cowardly move to implicate someone else unless it is a fake trying to sabotage things further.

There are frequent leaks and apparently it has become common knowledge that leakers will use phrases and words associated with other figures to try to throw people off their trail.

That wasn't mentioned in the op-ed.
I went back and read it and you are right. I must have been combining it with the Cohn/Woodward info this was linked in the op-ed. It looks like a coordinated effort with the same individuals calling themselves “the grownups in the room”.

Oh yeah, I'm sure the writer belongs to the same crew.
I don't get the sense that Mike Pence is selfless enough to have done it. He has ambitions and doing this and being revealed would risk all that. I'm sure we'll find out at some point though.
I tend to think "lodestar" was used to throw us off the trail...or even to cause chaos for Pence.

What's the hot take? Kav saying all people should be treated equally and that rights should not be afforded based on race and ethnicity alone. What's so egregious?
