Some people are willing to separate the two and let ends justify means, others are not. In any case, debates can still proceed with a basis in objective facts rather than subjective opinions.
Second - to deny that men should be cautious in this era is to deny reality. My girlfriend's dad drives for Uber, and has an accent. Drunk girls were coming into his car late at night and hugging him, unsolicited. He now has a dashboard camera to capture himself and his passengers (and has signage to tell passengers this practice is occurring), as he was deathly afraid of someone exploiting a 'his word vs. her word' situation. How cautious a person wants to be in that regard is their own damn business.
