I wonder how the traveling minstrels, in times past before electronic media, were treated when they brought the latest news from village to village. They had opinions and delivered the news from their own POV.  It's a very long tradition for artists to speak out.
It's so funny to me. Ted Nugent or Rosanne are welcomed for their views. Left leaning entertainers? "ELITE SCUM!"
They're not "elite" anymore according to Trump. Last week, he said he's more elite than they are because he has a nicer apartment, more money, and he became president and they didn't.
that blew me away. it shouldn't, but it did. which is good, actually, I'm not totaly fucking desensitized to this idiot's ramblings.
Come on...that was comedy. You may not have found it funny but that's clearly what it was. Personally I found it hilarious. It was very Seinfeld. "Why do they call them elite?"
uh, no, it wasn't. this is part of the problem. people who think he was joking.
He was obviously joking. It isn't even up for debate in my mind. He was bragging about himself while making fun of both the term "elite" and the people who are labelled as such. You can still think he detestable but it is that kind of humour that actually makes me have affinity for him on occasion. He is the master troll.
no he isn't. he's a master at being a fucking idiot. he is so desperate to be viewed as superior to everyone, he will say anything and his idiot base laps it up. he can say anything and they love it. he comes off as pathetic, not humourous.

    I agree with this completely:

Why Maxine Waters low road strategy on Trump is a very bad idea:

Not this argument again. It's identical to that 'I wish Americans stood up for me like they do for Kim Jong Un' thing. People trying to write off comments that are heavy with meaning by writing it off as a simple joke. I guess that's the only thing you can cling to when you make a habit of defending a really horrible, harmful person. In both cases, even if it was a joke, it's reprehensible. Luckily we can at least know a lot about a person who claims to find it hilarious (or even feels an affinity for Trump because of it - Jesus). So we can avoid them.
However, I do appreciate your admission to being a massive troll. Once someone admits it openly, it actually makes it a lot easier to get along with them (I remember this happened with pjfanwillneverleave too... once you know for sure, they're easier to take for what they are, and less frustrating).

I'm not writing it off at all. It isn't a simple joke. It is powerful and with a purpose. The master troll does nothing by accident. The fact that this comment on "elites' gets his opponents so riled up that they shoot themselves in the foot is nothing short of genius. Reprehensible, hilarious, genius all wrapped into one. He's been doing it since the days of low-energy Jeb and it wins every. single. time.

Ha. You're going to keep hanging your hat on something nobody cares about anymore. Mueller ain't going to bring down Trump regardless of what happens to Flynn, Papadopolous, Manafort, Cohen etc. There is a far greater chance that one or more of those cases gets tossed prior to the filing of the Mueller report. The IG confirmed that Comey should have been fired. Obstruction is dead. You're waiting for a christmas present that will never come.

He was obviously joking. It isn't even up for debate in my mind. He was bragging about himself while making fun of both the term "elite" and the people who are labelled as such. You can still think he detestable but it is that kind of humour that actually makes me have affinity for him on occasion. He is the master troll.

You're still watching a network that lost its relevance with the retirement of Walter Cronkite?

. Trump’s net approval has declined in all 50 states since he took office

This isn’t totally surprising, as Trump’s net approval rating — the percentage of people who approve of the president minus the percentage who disapprove — has declined nationally since January 2017. But it’s still noteworthy. It often seems as if American politics is split between two immutable camps: Trump loyalists and Trump haters, and neither group ever changes its mind about anything. But the data here suggests more fluidity — and in Trump’s case, the movement is against him. Trump does have near-ironclad support (close to 90 percent approval, according to Gallup) among self-described Republicans nationally. But a Gallup poll conducted last year found that only about 40 percent of U.S. adults identify themselves as either Republicans or leaning toward the GOP. So that remaining 60 percent of the U.S. that identifies as Democrats and independents is likely where Trump has grown more unpopular.

And you'll keep hanging your hat on a misguided trade policy, North Korea, and a tax cut that evaporates. Have you seen the stock market lately? Heard the business leaders? See where Harley Davidson is moving jobs offshore because of the retalitory trade tariffs? Yea, cases are going to get tossed, you're hilarious. Two of the four you mention already pleaded guilty. One has yet to be charged but seeing how they seized his law office records with a search warrant, there's a whole lot of there, there. And Manafort is cooling his heels in jail awaiting trial, scheduled for mid july, maybe August and his attorneys have lost every motion thus far. We'll see what tune he sings when his trial starts. You're in denial of the inevitable implosion and collapse.

And Oklahoma, Montana, Arizona, Alaska, Nebraska, Kansas, Indiana, Missouri, Idaho, and Wyoming. :confounded:

Even with a decline in support in every state, I personally think Trump very well may win the next election, just because too many of American voters are just that creepy and/or stupid. Doesn't even matter who the Dem running against him is, either way.

Team Trump Treason supporters are so intelligent they’ve taken their anti-anti Team Trump Treason wrath out on a Red Hen restaurant. Located in Connecticut and other locations other than in Virginia. Does this mean we can have collective punishment of all “responsible” gun owners? Fucking hypocrites.
