Why is anybody surprised? Deep red states aren't going to flip.
    It's a hopeless situation...

It's not about flipping. This was a primary. It shows that folks can run to the right of the President and still easily win. This guy is a complete moron and is the worst that public service could ever offer up. The sitting Senator was a Trump guy. It shows that Republicans don't see the far right as the extreme. No. Moderates are. And the guy Moore beat is no moderate. He's an Alabama Republican loyalist- a group not known for moderate positions. See: Sessions, Jeff.
This is a big deal in Republican politics. I'm not sure how it plays in the upper Midwest or southwest. Don't sleep on this as, "It's Alabama." No. If this guy had won and eeked it out, then maybe it flips in a General. Unheard of. But this was a solid beating and I don't see Dems pulling it off. This is a convincing mandate to Moore. Ted Cruz should pray he wins, then he wouldn't be the most hated man in the Senate.

Yeah the Moore-Strange run off was a lose-lose. They're both bonkers. Stupid Alabama, they can go ahead secede along with Texas.

Well of course, just like everything else he says about ratings and crowd sizes, lol. Bahahaha, yeah right, Monday Night Football is going down the toilet all of a sudden. In his dreams!

Let me help you out: Generally speaking, when the president says something, it's probably not true.
    Exactly
In fact I'm  pretty sure that if he were to tweet that the sun sets in the west that it would start setting in the east.

Why in the fuck are you a Trump supporter BS? It's so weird. Are you just a contrarian?
I've laid it out a million times. I don't like him but I think he is necessary.
Yes, if you're aiming for the decline and fall of the USA, I agree he is necessary. But look, your comment about his UN speech suggests you're saying more than what you're claiming is your point. Are you so egotistical that you think you know what's best for the world when literally every single other reasonable leader on the face of the planet doesn't, along with all other reasonable people, military leaders, geniuses, scientists, et al? I think it's almost fascinating that you feel like you know something that all of these much more qualified and informed people don't (not to mention about 68% of all US voters).
The decline and fall of the USA was already afoot. It probably still is. Every other reasonable leader has failed you along with all other reasonable people, military leaders, geniuses, scientists, et al. The emperor is wearing no clothes. More of the same will not do. Trump is the hail mary pass that in all likelihood will fail but at least it is a pass attempt.
What is this "failure" you speak of? I remember the Clinton years being pretty damn good. And Obama took us out that deep hole the neocons dug for us. Trump's impeachment will be a failure of him and his administration but there won't be a world failure. Keep selling your fear because fear is all you have to sell.
The Clinton Korea Nuclear deal is just starting to pay off.
Remind us again what the Bush administration did after NK detonated their first atomic weapon, professor?
You misunderstand BS, he thinks Bush was a massive failure on this account.

Bush should have called Il little rocket man and threatened to totally destroy him.

That's how you handle the situation to BS's liking.
    Monkey Driven, Call this Living?

    This is pretty interesting...

To liberals, having Moore in the Senate will be the gift that keeps on giving. He will be the mainstream media’s favorite Republican senator. They will count on Moore to embody every negative stereotype that a conservative from Alabama and an elected Republican can have. And based on what we know about Moore, he is unlikely to disappoint. Liberals couldn’t be happier. Finally, there is a truly anti-gay, anti-woman, anti-Muslim, anti-everything elected Republican for all the world to see.

For week 3 ratings from this time last year are down 6%.

They were down in 2016, 9% same time last year from the 2015.

So yes, ratings are down but not disastrous.  People claim that the Emmys this year and bad play last year are to blame so let's see.

Here is a very telling statistic about the currently elected president....
Over the past weekend he tweeted about the NFL 24 times
Over the past weekend he tweeted about the disaster in Puerto Rico 0 (zero) times
Sure hope his supporters are proud of their choice

He should be talking more about Puerto Rico.  He did declare it an emergency in order to get FEMA there.  There are crews deployed to start fixing the electrical grid.

They have people but it's a mess there.  They'll need more help.

Rumor has it that Hillary implored him to send the US Navy's hospital ship USS Comfort, which, apparently, he eventually did. He shouldn't need a reminder nor should his FEMA director. But hey, what do you want from a president who tweets and tweets about two month old Iranian missile launches like they happened yesterday?

That kind of reasoning is akin to a doctor prescribing heroin to someone as a pain reliever.  In all likelihood it'll end up fatal for the patient, but at least it was an attempt.
    Bad analogy.
    How so?
Really? I can't believe I am going to waste my time on this nonsense...

Doctors always prescribe morphine as a pain reliever. Morphine and heroine are from the same family and as a pain reliever in controlled doses it is extremely effective. It is quite frequently used in palliative care situations so that a patient might die peacefully without pain. So your analogy makes zero sense because Trump is not the palliative pain reliever but is the untested alternative therapy that hopefully revives the patient (america). He is the new experimental chemo drug that might help even though it will likely have bad side effects. The status quo is the heroine. The status quo keeps the patient sick until it dies of natural causes. The analogy is bad.
I think it's pretty clear what he meant. Substitute meth or free base freak for prescription strength heroin then. It's a petty point to pick at. Calling Trump a hail Mary is the bad analogy to begin with.
    Thank you, tbergs!

"Florida, Texas, we did a tremendous job in those places, but Puerto Rico, it's an island, it's surrounded by an ocean, a big ocean, a really big ocean, am I right? it's harder to get trucks there, because it's an island".

he sounds like a 5 year old.
The Trump administration on Tuesday denied a request from several members of Congress to waive shipping restrictions to help get gasoline and other supplies to Puerto Rico as the island recovers from Hurricane Maria.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) declined the request to waive the Jones Act, which limits shipping between coasts to U.S.-flagged vessels, according to Reuters. DHS waived the act following hurricanes Harvey and Irma, which hit the mainland U.S.

    Unbelievable.

(CNN)After a week of misery, millions of Puerto Ricans are still suffering in primitive conditions without power, water or enough fuel.

About 97% of the island's 3.4 million residents are still in the dark Wednesday, one week after Hurricane Maria slammed into the Puerto Rico, Gov. Ricardo Rosselló said. About half of the residents do not have running water.
And there's nowhere enough food to go around. In the town of Utuado, Lydia Rivera has started to ration crackers and drink rainwater to keep her two grandchildren alive.
"No water, no food," Rivera told CNN.

That tweet about NFL ratings being down is propaganda.

Trump Says NFL Ratings Are ‘Way Down’ Because Of Protests. They’re Actually Up.
More people are watching top NFL games than ever watched “The Apprentice.”

So I should have just said Liar Liar Pants on Fire...!  Thanks all. :giggle:

He doesn't care because he views it as a foreign country. They don't count for voting, so he doesn't give a shit. Terrible leader and person.
        It's a hopeless situation...
