Congratulations, Kentucky, for a massive step backward in governance.

Flying in the face of masses of evidence in the US and around the world, Kentucky chooses to make it harder for low income people to get health care, because what it apparently wants is a sicker, less productive population.

Very interesting to read that Kentucky was enthusiastic in its uptake of Obamacare.

It’s the state that gives us Randy Paul, provide your own damn healthcare. Unless you get tackled by your neighbor, then the gubmint should pay for it. How many days did Randy Paul work last year for his gubmint provided healthcare? I’ll bet it was part-time.

would you go somewhere if you knew most people there hated your guts? would you make that country spend millions of extra pounds just for security? if you were leaders of GB, would you ruin your political career by taking photos with the most hated man in the world? I am surprised trump's narcissism has allowed him to make the decision to not go.

Is the POTUS required to go through customs or show a passport? Or do they have some special world travel privileges?

Reagan was widely despised for his nuclear policy in Europe but visited frequently despite the marches, protests and I believe, his motorcade being egged. Team Trump Treason is shallow and weak. The suit is empty. And he’s a racist.

The rest of the world should deny him entry. On principle.

If one were to post something like this below on a different website that was overrun with Trumptards (not mentioning any names) would it be considered ass-holy?

    http://thesmokinggun.com/si...
$140k...will you see that much of an increase in your taxes next year after getting PLOWED by DJT?
Actually, he considered it a PLOWING, but in reality, it was more like a half-hearted awkward lunge and then he collapsed in exhaustion. MONEY WELL SPENT while Melania was PREGNANT with Barron.
    Check the timeline beyotches....

Is it enough just to make them feel bad about themselves?  Is it counterproductive at this point?  Is me relentlessly pointing out their hypocrisy just reinforcing their bad choices?  I don't even know any more. One thing I do know?  I am pretty sure the FBI knows exactly what my name is and where I am right now.

Please take a step back and stop the name-calling. It's very trumpian and I'm sure you don't mean to be that. I can't say it's not deserved but it doesn't add to the conversation in a positive way. You're better than that...please take the high road. We have to stand up for what we believe to be right but do it in a better way. Thanks all.

You know, our country can, and likely will, recover from his policy decisions which I wholeheartedly disagree with, but can we ever truly recover from having such a tabloid spectacle as our leader?
    No, we can't.

The office has permanently been diminished, if our next 10 Presidents are brilliant world changers who bring lasting world peace and harmony...we will still have to remember that to the highest  office in the world, we elected a true caricature of a person larger than life in every possible negative way.

    No, we can't.

I'm more worried about Congress in the long run than the president.  Congress can always impeach a President if he is an idiot. Right now we have a Congress that puts party over country every time.

The only quality of Trump's I would like the next president to have is to speak more bluntly (but with more grace than our current idiot).   Also, perhaps be more decisive too on world matters since we send so much money to other countries.

With North Korea, I think the President should just tweet:  "North Korea....If you attack any of our allies with whether nuclear or not, we will obliterate you.  If you try to nuke the US, we will shoot down your missile and, again, obliterate you.  If you transfer a nuke to another country.  Again, total obliteration."

We can then remove our troops from South Korea.   WE don't have to have talks with China and Russia.  We can just leave North Korea be.  That's how it should be.  If they would have threatened a missile attack instead of sanctions, we may have had a chance before they got their nukes.

Regarding "sending so much money to other countries, on a list of the official development aid by percentage of the countries' income, the USA ranks 20th, well below essentially all of the Northern European countries. Even Italy does better.

A massive and growing income disparity. Corruption at the top level of government. Tens of millions of citizens don't have reliable access to clean water. Tens of millions live in substandard and unsafe housing, while more than half a million are absolutely homeless. Shockingly horrible rankings in maternal, infant and child health - in fact, ranking at #61 out of the world's countries for maternal health, with the highest infant death rate out of all the "developed" nations, and a child death rate comparable to that of Serbia.

So, the elephant in the room........ does the USA qualify as a "shithole" country?

    Durbin confirmed it.
As someone that used to have him a Senator, knowing his history, I can't believe a word out of his mouth.

If this whole thing is based on what Dick Durban says I would say there is a likely chance we aren't being told the truth.

I have seen reports that others have said that he didn't say it.

    He said, she said.
lindsay graham pretty much confirmed it, and he's been sucking trump's dick for a while now. so i believe that. i heard no other people saying he didn't say it except trump himself. the others in the room conveniently 'don't recall'. bullshit. cowards.

Ryan, too; he did not deny it, and instead called it "unfortunate and not helpful".

    No, we can't.

The office has permanently been diminished, if our next 10 Presidents are brilliant world changers who bring lasting world peace and harmony...we will still have to remember that to the highest  office in the world, we elected a true caricature of a person larger than life in every possible negative way.

I’m glad you’re not involved in setting US foreign policy.

It is a policy.  We don't need troops in South Korea.  Let's just tell NK that if you attack South Korea, it will be the last time you attack South Korea.  US put notice on North Korea.  I'm saying let's move on completely from North Korea.  It isn't an agenda item anymore other than to be prepared to shoot down a missile.

Because North Korea policy has been great so far?  Basically, I'm just saying let's stay out of their business until they make it our business.  It is the same position you would have wanted to take with Iraq in 2002.  I just say it in a blunt way to make sure there are no misunderstandings.

ok let's play that out.  we remove ground forces.  If they attack without a nuke,  then we'll nuke them.  But before our missiles hit pyong, they will be able to launch a strike against Japan and s. Korea, hitting 170 mm people.

Can we stop those missiles now?  I'm not sure.

Not sure we would have to nuke NK at that point.  Just take out their leadership and nuclear facilities.

Any strike against NK will precipitate an esc alation. It's not like Kim Jong Un and his cronies will be sitting in a palace when this happens.  They have very secure bunkers.   Regarding your comment about the world police, I'm not really sure what that means.  We made a commitment to the South when the DMZ was established over 60 years ago.  No offense, but your strategy doesn't make any sense.  If the North decided to invade the South, we would have no means of fighting back conventionally without launching a major strike....leading to the counter strike of much higher proportions.

There's not good answer in NK without the help of the Chinese, but recalling troops is the last thing to do...followed closely by announcing our strategy via Twitter.

World police = keeping troops around the world ready to strike when non-US territories are attacked.  Sounds like you liberals are for it after all based on comments about being nearby to protect SK, Japan, etc....

So why make the case to attack NK if they invade the South? Why should we (you) care?  Why not just withdraw and let SK and Japan fend for themselves? Your arguments are inconsistent.
