    While on our morning walk today, one of the "regulars" on the walking trail greeted us.  We generally like to keep to ourselves as walking time is "our time", but didn't want to be rude so responded in kind.  That immediately opened the door for this guy- male, middle aged, clad in old combat boots- do go into his rant.  He went right into a diatribe about how the "commies" on our country board of supervisors laid out the lanes on the walking trail "like Europeans would, not like AMERICANS!"  (keep in mind, in 2020 El Dorado county voted 44% Democrat, 53% Republican, so I assure you there are no "commies on that board).  He went on to give us the whole spiel about how COVID is fake, Ukraine was cause by the current administration, no war was started by Trump (but then, how would one start a war from a golf course?), and went on and on about how great Trump is.  ETCETERA! 
    The point I'm making is, when you are face-to-face with a die-hard Trump fan/ radical right wing conspiracy theorist, you really get a clear image about the character of these people:  They only listen to what they want to hear (radical right wind commentators), they are not widely read or well educated, they are angry, they are organized, they are like rat terriers who will not quit until they have their prey, and they do not listen well at all. 
    These people are not going to quit.  They are not going to change their mind, listen to anything that counters their cult-like beliefs, and they are not going to go away.  We have every reason to be very concerned about what these people are capable of, and trying to reason with them is useless.  You may notice I very seldom do that on these boards lately.  There has to be a better way to use our time and energy.

    Beware a repub governor in NY. I think Ruddy Ghouliani’s son is running? For something? Any indictments issued, resulting in charges, will inevitably lead to years or pre-trial motions and delays. It’s not inconceivable that a repub could be elected governor or DA and a pardon is issued or charges are dropped.

    One can hope.  But they came out in force strongly enough to elect Trump in 2020 and the threat of his return lingers. Unnerving!   I should try not to think about it too much.

    You want to discuss corruption? Ask your Democrats why Trump hasn't been charged yet. The Democrats are in power and all we hear is that Trump broke the law. It shouldn't be so difficult if Democrats truly have proof. Not only that, if Trump did break the law, they have a civil duty to make sure he pays for his crimes. Not making him pay for those crimes is just as bad as any repub corruption.
