The point probably has to do with the fact that Trump has routinely judged other people by exactly those measures his entire life. A little bit of throwing it back in his face I guess.

It's also why you likely won't see any of that if a heavyset fellow like, say Larry Hogan, is the R nominee in 2024. Because, you know, Hogan is a decent human being who doesn't deserve that kind of stuff.

I make a point not to mock Trump's hair, makeup, weight, small hands, etc. because it's looked at as "punching down" and avoiding the substance. Also, it's not really relevant to what's really going on and there's a parallel to this and the degree to which female politicians are judged on looks. To a degree he "deserves" it. But it's not productive.  If people are going to give him a pass on his punching down, there's nothing I can do about it but I'm not going to feed anyone's "everyone's mean to Trump because he's so great" nonsense.
