Last I heard, POOTWH was blaming Melanka Darlink for his backing of Oz. Now, if she’d only leave him. For Deathsantis.

    CNN —

As votes rolled in from across the country Tuesday night, Donald Trump said something truly incredible when asked about how much credit or blame he should get for the election results.

“I think if they win, I should get all of the credit, and if they lose, I should not be blamed at all,” Trump told NewsNation, adding: “But it will probably be just the opposite.”

That's true. But I wonder whether his base is shrinking.  I would guess...just on my gut, the DeSantis would be easily preferred to the Man Baby at in the party at this point.

POOTWH’s solid base of deplorables is about 25% of the 35% that never budges and is always wholly onboard with whatever extremist position POOTWH takes. It’s the indies that’ll flock to Deathsantis and he’ll need a % of POOTWH’s base to win the nomination. Romney repubs won’t be enough but 6%-12% of POOTWH’s base might be enough.

It will be interesting if Trump makes his BIG announcement next week.  He was counting on the momentum from the wave, reading the polls.

I agree.  Possible he could beat Biden, but stomp him? Doubt it.

I think the republican need to take the next several years and get their heads out of that MAGA dark place that has turned them into a bad joke.

In a vacuum, at this point and with this atmosphere, Desantis probably does beat Biden handily.

However, the Republicans have a huge problem.  Trump is going to have a tacky announcement in 2 weeks he is running for president. Him and Desantis are going to fight like dogs.  Republicans overall prefer Desantis at this point.  Trump's ego and his mental illness will not allow him to let it go, especially against someone who he gives himself credit for creating.  Trump will tear apart the house on his way out and I bet he runs to spite the Republican party and Desantis and he will maintain his most devout cult members.
The Frankenstein monster the Republicans and Republican party has built will finally rise and smash apart the lab and turn on his masters.  They have it coming.

To me, he was clearly joking. You could see him try to keep his lips straight on that one.

But I’ll say, democracy shouldn’t be a joke to anybody, ever.

Anecdotally (i.e., Twitter) I seems that conservatives are ready to move on from Trump and move to Desantis. But there are some people digging in their heels on Trump. Everything you say here is very plausible. We know that Trump is anything but rational and he doesn't care about the party or the Country; only himself (and Ivanka). Obviously, the best move for the GOP is to have Trump go on Tucker's show in the near future and announce that he's retiring. It just makes too much sense. But the party is going to have to make that worth his while. How? Not sure. They can promise to make sure to do whatever the can to keep him safe from the law.

I have no problem admitting that I'm hoping he lingers. His presence will do one of two things: create a very tense contest between Trump and DeSantis or lead DeSantis and the rest of the party to step aside for Trump. And based on yesterday, I think independents are sick of Trump, his whining, and his conspiracy nonsense. While I'm still nervous about who on earth might run for the Dems in two years (Be it Biden or someone from their not-very-deep bench), I think Trump would be easier to beat than DeSantis. But watching Desantis and Trump rough each other up is probably the best scenario because I think Desantis would win the nomination but some Trump fans would sit it out.

It’s amazing DeSantis went from winning last time by 0.4% to being such a rock star now. Besides his gorgeous baby blue eyes, what is different about him than trump? He is young? Ok. But he is every bit as nasty, screwed over a major employer in his state, marginalized the gay population and his policies- guns everywhere, breaks for the wealthy and abortion bans are identical to trump. DeSantis popularity is more of an indictment of the vain American electorate than anything about him as a policy maker.

ok he figured out how to keep his Covid death count down, just don’t test. They’re still dead, Ron.

I think Florida has drifted further and further red over the last 10-20 years. I saw some tweet about how they may have screwed themselves in the other parts of the country with so many republicans choosing to move down to that humid hurricane drenched hell hole. He clearly benefitted from that. Also there was like no competition. Charlie Crist? C'mon...

this is the best prediction I've seen in years. not that I am advocating for a one party system of democrat rule, but if this causes the repubs to implode and spend time having to rebuild and being on the receiving end, I'm all for it.

Hey buddy...what do you think Trump was doing with all those top secret documents at maralago?

Also....the market is higher right now compared to when trump left office.

He went with the "they planted it" defense because.....you know, because there's no defense for having it in the first place.

‘Where’d That Money Go?’ Watters Questions How Trump Spent His ‘Massive War Chest’ Before the Midterms

The host of Jesse Watters Primetime said political action committees tied to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell spent nearly $60 million boosting Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania, only to lose the race. Watters then pointed to Senate races in Ohio and Arizona.

“J.D. Vance won in Ohio,” Watters said. “Trump endorsed him. I like J.D., but McConnell had to plow about $32 million to help J.D. win in a state that Trump won by eight. That money could have gone to [Blake] Masters in Arizona. Now, Masters, who I also like didn’t raise enough dough – got outspent by about a billion dollars, a gazillion dollars. I can’t keep track.”

Regarding the Senate race in Arizona where Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly seems headed for reelection over Masters, the Fox News was perplexed.

“Nobody can even define what Kelly believes in, but it works,” he said. “All we know is that he’s an astronaut who has great manners or something. McConnell spent close to $400 million on these Senate candidates. I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, but that is a lot of money. And we didn’t pick up a single seat? So, either some of these candidates are garbage or the money’s not being well spent.

Watters then noted Trump is sitting on tens of millions of dollars he has raised.

But Trump’s sitting on a massive war chest in Mar-a-Lago,” he noted. “Where’d that money go?” We don’t know.

I'm guessing it's the new "health care plan in two weeks". Desantis will call his bluff. And Trump will look stupid. But his supporters won't care, and he knows it. Win win for trump.

I am really curious as to their excuses/talking points though. I haven't even see my facebook "friends" talking about it. Will they dare blame their lord and savior, which would be the sane, rational thing to do? Or will they claim fraud again? Or will they just talk about how Florida got it right in their eyes? It will be interesting as they were SO confident just a few days ago...believing all those late republican leaning pollsters.
