    Interesting series of updates/articles from the Guardian about the attack and subsequent response. 

    I note in particular that the Imam of the mosque protected the suspect from harm when others wanted to attack him. I also note that the far right National Front disavowed any knowledge of him, while also saying that it clearly wasn't terrorism, but rather "revenge". That makes it all right, I guess.

    Because in this case his religion doesn't matter. He was targeting a specific religion.  In the other terrorist attacks it is their religion driving them to attack anyone really...any religion.  It's really not a conspiracy or very hard to understand

    I think you make a good point. This guy very well could have bowed his head in silent prayer right before the attack and felt he was doing god's work. Was there something in the bible or any other religious material that supported this ideology for him? We don't know. As for the other terrorist attacks Cincy mentions, it is not the religion itself that is driving the attacks, it's the person's fringe interpretation of that religion and how they then apply it to justify their actions.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    Yeah and what I mean is the story is that he attacked Muslims....doesn't matter if he was white/black/other/christian/jewish....he specifically targeted Muslims (ok I'm assuming a little here).  The other is an extremist version of a single religion attacking anyone else.  So their extremist religion is what the story is?  I'm not sure I'm making myself very clear on the internet. :)
