A new INTELLIGENCE LEAK from the Amazon Washington Post, this time against A.G. Jeff Sessions. These illegal leaks, like Comey's, must stop! The Failing New York Times foiled U.S. attempt to kill the single most wanted terrorist,Al-Baghdadi.Their sick agenda over National Security
Okay here's a little theory on the Sessions disclosure from the Post last night. I said earlier yesterday that Trump was trying to force Sessions out using a "no confidence" type argument. This could serve to his advantage because then he could install a new AG who would then oversee the Mueller investigation and kill it. So then last night the Post reports that intercepts report that Sessions did discuss the campaign with Kislyak who reported that information back to Moscow. This is in direct contradiction to Sessions's under oath testimony. If this is true, then these are crimes and certainly cause for removal. I haven't heard anyone say it yet, but why wouldn't we think that Trump's minions would leak this information, to box Sessions in further? Now he has cause. He's crazy enough to do such a thing. Guess we will have to wait and see.

We need to dispel the myth that Trump plays 3D chess.
This theory buys into that. This administration is never ahead and always behind, therefore I don't buy it.
That's really not 3D chess. It's not that clever, in fact it's fairly incriminating since he will have to argue that once again he was unaware of what senior aids to his campaign we're doing. While it's not clever, what it does do is serve a Trump immediate interest regardless of the long term consequence. That's right in his wheelhouse of thinking.

That is a good point. Especially the part in bold.
Sessions reminds me of Milburn Drysdale from the Beverly Hillbillies, always trying to do the right thing by the boss Trump (Clampetts). In the end he'll regret ever having been involved.

People have a habit of selling their souls when they touch the Trump family. It's really, really bizarre.

So when I read that twitter rant from this morning, I can't help but read that the President confirms that he really is contemplating pardons and that these unnamed sources from the Post aren't wrong. The second thing, the leaks he mentions of wrongdoings only confirm the info in them are true. I would absolutely hate to represent him as an attorney. He literally builds the case against him.

Three things on pardons: 1. Doesn't there have to be a conviction in order to grant a pardon, by definition? 2. If he pardons his children, Manafort, etc., they can no longer plead the 5th since they can no longer self-incriminate. They will be compelled to answer in court, opening themselves up to charges of perjury if they say something that conflicts with FBI evidence. 3. If either 1 or 2 takes place, they don't protect him from impeachment articles.
So it's a dangerous road to take, even without considering the political fallout.

I notice that too, by senselessly reacting against the leaks he essentially confirms them.

I'm not sure if you have to be found guilty first. When Ford pardoned Nixon, it was only a month after he left office. I think it kept him from any future prosecution. It's interesting and will be hammered out by people much smarter than me.
Rest assured President Trump is exploring all angles and leaving no stone unturned to find a way to be legally authorized to pardon himself or his family members if the time comes. He is being upfront w/ his this. The people hammering this out have just been dealt a thud themselves by the President.

You're right about that, concerning Nixon. Good call.
someone else made a comment about hate in a closed thread. I chuckled because for the last 9 months there are 5 threads with a barrage a daily hatred, extreme hate. Let's de-escalate the hate!
