Actually no. It's not that simple for the Republicans. This is going to go up to the SCOTUS where they will rule on how far powers extend. If the administration prevails, then the next Democratic president will well within his rights and obligations to use them. Truman tried to nationalize steel to break a strike during the Korean War. The courts said that did not meet their criteria of emergency. I can't imagine this fake one will pass muster and overturn precedent, but we will find out.

I meant more precedent from a president's actions to get what they want. I think we all know the reality going forward is that as long as we live in a two-party system that the extremes will be the result.
