I think if we are all honest the way some of the questions are asked are not the greatest. Including this most recent controversial one. It’s played off by many that she just asked “why does it matter that the US tests are the best in the world”?...a terrific question. But she added more to it that is certainly an attack.
That said, trump brought this on himself. And his reactions/“handling” of the questions is appalling. I think the press is just tired of being attacked and mocked and ignored.

May not have been the greatest way of phrasing the question, but it is the question I wanted asked. Why is everything a competition with him? Greatest number of tests ever. Nobody has ever done something this big. Ratings are higher than the bachelor!, etc... It gets really tiring. So I appreciated her asking that question to at least plant a seed with him and his advisors that the way he frames things aren't helpful or instructive for the most part. I'm sure it is lost on him, but perhaps Jared, Ivanka, or one of his other handlers can present it to him using monosyllabic words.

I think these questions only come off as "gotcha" style ones or whatever you want to call them because they are being asked to a complete imbecile who regularly does and says bizarre things. You can't ignore them and he will never sit down for an actual interview with a real journalist where he will get some push back (okay occasional he does one with David Muir who just tosses softball after softball) so we're left with these press conferences. Not great, Bob!

He doesn't know how to see and do and behave in any way other than TRANSACTIONAL. He is a narcissist who only cares about one person. And he sure doesn't care about you.

That's right. Everything is transactional. There's no such thing as good will or "the right thing". It's a deplorable way to be.... vacuous.

I would be the smarmiest, most douchey reporter in attendance in the press corps. They give softball questions after softball questions over and over again because they don't want to be kicked out.
He is such an ass and has been calling reporters nasty, and fake and terrible forever and now reporters finally say something remotely defending themselves and calling him out and it is the presses fault.
Ruddy Ghouliani? Anyone hear from him lately? Is he still alive? Over in The Ukraine Hunting and turning over Sleepy Woke Joe stones? Anyone here remember that?

You’d be like, “Thank you Mr. President for your amazing leadership but more importantly for honoring me by your presence and by calling upon you to ask the most very stable genius a few questions regarding your Administration’s tremendous response to the covid-19 pandemic started by Chiiiinaaa, but before I do, if I may, I’d like to complement the bulge in your slacks and your chest seems pumped, have you been working out, Mr. President and how is it that you never seem to age? Is it oxymoronchloriquine or mainline disinfectant? Thank you for that response, you’re looking good, big guy. So, to my questions, can you explain to the American people why you consistently brag about the US being best, and rightly so, as it relates to testing and how the US has lapped the world with testing, but not as a percentage of population and why, Mr. President, if the US leads the world, being number one, in deaths, why you don’t brag about that and tell the world how great your leadership is, having the most deaths and as a percentage of world totals? I’ll wait for your explanation and man, that bulge. Thank you, Mr. President.”
Howard Stern says he and President Trump are both showmen who love a good time — and they both hate Trump supporters.
“One thing Donald loves is celebrities, he loves the famous,” Stern said on his SiriusXM show Tuesday. “He loves it. He loves to be in the mix.”
Stern, 66, hosted Trump on his radio show several times over the years and frequently saw him at social events, including the shock jock’s 2008 wedding, where he seated the then-future president next to Joan Rivers. According to Stern, Trump went anywhere famous people would be and is suffering now that Hollywood has turned its back on him. He likened the president’s predicament to an episode of “The Twilight Zone.”
“The oddity in all of this is the people Trump despises most, love him the most,” Stern said. “The people who are voting for Trump for the most part... he wouldn’t even let them in a f---ing hotel. He’d be disgusted by them. Go to Mar-a-Lago, see if there’s any people who look like you. I’m talking to you in the audience.”
This is what I've always said. He wants to be out golfing with George Clooney, but is stuck with... Ted Nugent. He's Saruman from LOTR-- stuck with the urukhai because the world he wants to be a part of has turned the back on him because he is rotten. And if you can't get power through being adored by the elves, you take what you can.
"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"
I heard that live on Stern's show. He has Donald pretty much nailed and has had him nailed for a long time. And he doesn't hate Donald Trump, he hates that he is president currently and failing.

I’ve said the same thing from the beginning as well. He could give less than a crap for his MAGA supporters. He’d loved to be loved by celebrities, which is understandable because he used to be loved by celebrities, as well as Democratic politicians ....until he ran for president as a Republican. He does the “crooked Hillary” stuff because it works with his base and all he wants is votes. But deep down, I bet he wishes he and the Clintons were still friends. They’re more similar than different, and they were friends for many years. But Donald is shameless and willing to do anything to win, so he burnt that bridge to the ground (parading Bill’s alleged sexual assault victims, calls to lock Hillary up) and hasn’t looked back.

to your first statement I'd say "really? not the greatest?" almost all of them air on the side of softball because everyone of them is afraid of losing their position at these press conferences.
the asian reporter asking that has a justifiable beef. trump says stupid racist shit all the time (honestly i think the emphasis should be on "stupid"). however, in this instance, i think he would have said "ask china" to jim acosta as well. he's been blaming china to everyone since the US went into the toilet with this virus. remember, he praised them previously when the US had only a handful of cases. so was he racist then? or he's just racist now?
it's only taken these reporters 3 fucking years to grow a spine, but they have to learn to challenge him when it's suitable to be challenged.
completely agree with your last paragraph.

One of the more interesting questions/comments that I heard yesterday listening to the SCOTUS arguments was Kagan making a comment or directing a question, and I can't really remember her wording, but it was directed at Sukelow and she basically asked if the presence of additional filed sealed subpoenas influenced his thinking of whether they should be considered with the issue before the court, or something like that. If I can find a transcript of the arguments, I'll see if I can find it because I was taken by it and I think there was a moment of silence, her words hung in the air, heavy they were.
Me thinks that there may be a whole lot of subpoenas waiting to drop once Team Trump Treason and his ilk leave office. A whole lot.
I'm not a lawyer, but he had TWO events on his calendar yesterday, a 12 noon intel briefing (HILARIOUS), and a 4pm meeting with R senators, yet he spent ALL day rage tweeting while the CV19 rolled on, but couldn't spend 2 hours with Jay working on his case because it would DISTRACT him from his job?
This is a wholly different court that doesn’t believe in precedence but rather a strict interpretation of the constitution. The fix is in, I believe. They’ll rue the day.
