    I don't give Presidents points for choosing the right topics unless they do the right things about them. Reading here is always a nice reminder of how low the bar has been set.

    How so? They haven’t been implemented yet and the Mexico-Canada deal is being held up in the senate by repubs opposed to human rights protections for employees based on sexual orientation. So what exactly of these trade deals has benefited American workers?

    Me too.  The mistake of NAFTA was not the actual deal,  it was failing to prepare the older work force for the different skills needed in the next economy.  No deal is going to make things better for ALL Americans.  There will be winners and losers in a nation as diverse as ours. But on the whole,  free trade benefits the majority of Americans and certainly the world's population. It lifts people out of poverty with the required work standards and wages,  prohibiting American companies from moving work to the third world at slave standards.
