The beginning of the end...2018.  When Don Trump got it handed to him in the midterms.

    What a putz.

Taking credit for the Sox recent win streak? Delusional. Does Team Trump Treason do any presidenting? It’s like they elected Ferris Bueller to be POTUS?

Few teams leave them off any more...but the Red Sox are one.  But when it’s the First Family of America, you kinda have to add the name.

C’mon Pete. If true it’s nit that generational. Please. And I like Pete, but this is stupid
Yeah a better response would be something like "My friends called me Alfred E. Neuman in middle school. So real clever, Mr. President."

It's crazy, but this sort of thing actually counts in the age of Trump; how you respond to insults. This response by Pete, is the third instance I can think of where Trump made an insult, and the democrat on the receiving end either didn't respond or responded in a typical politican way.....because they're professional and Trump is so immature. It makes them look afraid of him. It's sad to watch.

    2016 Debate
Hillary: It's a good thing that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump isn't in charge of the laws in this country.
Trump: Because you'd be in jail.
Hilary: [Smug smirk because it's beneath her to respond to that]

Better response: "You know something, Donald? YOU are the one that should be in jail. You rip off contractors, your rip of investors, and you cheat on your taxes!"

Trump posts a video of Joe Biden talking, with another Biden creepily massaging the first Biden's neck.
Biden tweet in response: "I see that you are on the job and presidential, as always."

Better response: "Yeah massages are one thing but at least I don't grab women by the pussy!"

Alright maybe he shouldn't have said EXACTLY that, but give me something! On the job and presidential as always? What's next? Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me?

That's one thing I'll give Elizabeth Warren, she seems up for a fight. Sanders too. The rest of them? I'm not so sure...

I don’t see this as him responding as if he’s afraid, I see it as him responding in a way that highlights Trump’s age and makes him look less relevant. I don’t have an issue with it.
The idea seemed to be to push his "Im a new generation, the first president to grow in in the post 9/11/school shooting US" thing.

But it also made him come off as someone who never had friends, and just studied all day in his room with his taped glasses growing up. Which to me will be his problem to normal folks - "look at me I know seven languages and studied at Harvard".

You can never write a good character in fiction without writing in flaws.

    Not knowing about MAD magazine?
Holy cow, it is amazing how much people have picked his response apart, lol!
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata

    Hey funny story.

I just got back from Arizona.  In the PHX boarding area awaiting the redeye back to BWI there was a family.  Super young mom and dad and infant.  The dad had the face of someone who had packed way to many years into way too small a space.  He also had an ankle bracelet and malfunctioning USB cord to go along with his POS off brand cell phone.  They were wearing outfits picked from a pile of donated clothes.  No shoelaces.  He handed an her empty bag of peanuts to her and she pushed her finger deep into the crevice of the bottom of that bag to barely get a morsel of broken peanut.  She wore nothing but appreciation for that man of hers on her face. He wore a mixture of excitement and concern that his burner phone's charging light kept shutting off after about 15 seconds

Because I recognized the situation and I'm not a fucking asshole, I gave him my Micro B cord and bought them a chicken wrap sandwich.

Don Trump woulda had them shot.  He has to go.  NOW.

That was what a good person and good American should do. Good for you! I'm sure they appreciated it.

I'm trying to figure out how many people were eyeing them warily or 'reporting' the 'scary' people to airline security while you were being human.

I was watching Morning Joe and he says stuff every day to goad the President into a stupid tweet or make him insecure. It's quite satisfying actually because 45 never disappoints.

Trump says he stopped watching but he watches them everyday and like time work a tweet will come out about some issue you know that Joe or Mika, but Joe seems to get the most joy out of it, had been discussing to press his buttons.

He actually said that he was surprised that the President hadn't claimed the Red Sox turn around on their WH trip, because he loves to take credit for what other people do. About an hour later - poof, there it was.

I guess only the white players were doing the winning.

that's pretty great that you did that.  i'd like to think i'd do the same  but to be honest i would hesitate to offer food in that situation. never sure how someone would react to that type of offer.

I could see it being a pride thing. But if your wife and child are hungry, you take the food.

I used to buy an extra coffee and a breakfast sandwich in the morning on my way to work in Manhattan. It was for the homeless people who were situated near the little bodegas. Sometimes they took it and didn't say anything, which was fine. I just wanted to let them know that I saw them, instead of walking by them like they were a fire hydrant, and hopefully give them a meal.

Most just wanted money and when I'd offer the breakfast, they'd spit at me or yell at me. Addiction sucks, I personally understand that and I am lucky that homelessness was not part of my story.  I can't imagine how horrible it must be. But I wouldn't give them money, so I'd offer to the next person. People need to eat, no matter their circumstance..

NOW.

that's pretty great that you did that.  i'd like to think i'd do the same  but to be honest i would hesitate to offer food in that situation. never sure how someone would react to that type of offer.

People need to eat, no matter their circumstance..
yeah, a few months back someone outside a Tim's was asking for money. I told her I'd be happy to buy her breakfast. She proceeded to order the most expensive thing on the menu, but at least my money didn't go to booze. and she seemed pretty grateful.

I'm surprised no one has accused Pete's tweet as being ageist yet.

He had an even better response on Jimmy Fallon last night, which I suppose could be called elitist, but I found to be great...

And nice going with the woman at Tim's. If I was homeless, I'd probably go for the best if given the chance too.
