The idea seemed to be to push his "Im a new generation, the first president to grow in in the post 9/11/school shooting US" thing.
But it also made him come off as someone who never had friends, and just studied all day in his room with his taped glasses growing up. Which to me will be his problem to normal folks - "look at me I know seven languages and studied at Harvard".
You can never write a good character in fiction without writing in flaws.

Trump has had two tweet storms today. When does he do presidenting? Oh, wow, that's an actual word - lol. Seriously, Obama looked like he aged 10 years in his first term and he was always doing things, like president things. It looked exhausting. Trump is eating burgers in his separate bedroom tweeting at all hours. The government is going to hell, but it must REALLY be bad because no one is doing anything they should be doing. We have no idea how badly Trump has destroyed our country - it's going to take a long time to get back to some sort of normal, but I can't see things ever being the same.
And I keep asking - how does he have an iPhone to use unsafe apps as he pleases? I distinctly remember Obama not liking having to give up his Blackberry, but he got it back - secure and with limited functions. He had to learn how to use a smartphone when his 8 years were done. Why wasn't this rule enforced for Trump? Just because he said no and stomped away? Are the security people that incompetent? SMH.
