            2018
Yeah I was more hoping late ‘18. But no I think the buildup to all these huge stories that seem to fade away. I’m waiting for the Mueller report obviously but I still see him surviving till the election. I’ve be wrong a lot about trump so I’m probably wrong hereThe Juggler said:
I see you put down 2018 as your guess as to when he’d be forced out. Do you think the fact that your expectation was not met is playing a factor into you now thinking he will finish the term? Only ask because ‘17 or 18 was probably not very realistic. This was never going to happen quickly, especially with the republicans controlling both houses the last two years. The Dems are basically just getting started now. And no—they cannot force him out on their own since they’d need senate conviction—but they can move the needle much more by bringing as much of this out as possible with open hearing after open hearing...cincybearcat said:I’ve come to the conclusion that trump will finish this term. 2019Chris Christie says believes the SDNY is pursuing a post presidency indictment......thereby reinforcing my belief that the best way to force him out is some kind of deal where he agrees to resign as opposed to facing jail time for him and/or members of his family once he leaves office
OR----depending on the timing, maybe it's an agreement to finish his term but not run again? A way of saving face?
"I am in constant contact with the SDNY regarding an ongoing criminal investigation" -- the single most important thing to come out of last week.Post edited by The Juggler onwww.myspace.com0

            "THE FIELD"
I put “the field” because I never felt like it was likely. But even I’m surprised about the level to which the GOP has his back no matter what. The reality that our division is to the point that even GOP lawmakers will back him out of spite to the left is only a recent revelation. So I certainly could see someone who did not think he’d make it four years changing their mind by this time. The Juggler said:

2019I watched The Circus on Showtime last night. Mark McKinnon was ambush interviewing Jim Jordan as he was walking down a hallway, without wearing a blazer. McKinnon was asking him about the Cohen testimony and Jordan was saying the usual stuff about him being a liar and not trustworthy blah blah blah.
What happened next was pretty telling. McKinnon asked him about how he could be lying about the things he provided proof on, namely the signed check. Jordan had no answer. None. He literally said nothing and then bolted away from him down a different hallway with the help of his aides kind of blocking McKinnon from asking more questions. Jim Jordan is not exactly the kind of guy who gets lost for words...
This is what I'm talking about. It's been relatively easy for republicans to defend Trump these last couple years because the investigations are on-going. And there hasn't been any definitive public proof tying Trump to anything nefarious....yet. But now we see some of the first evidence popping up last week and they do everything they can to not acknowledge it. With the Cohen hearing, nobody really defending the president. It was all just attacking Cohen's character and how he can't be trusted, as if mob bosses have not been brought down by the exact kind of witness Cohen is for decades. And here you have Jordan basically running away from an interviewer asking a direct question about it. It's because he cannot defend it.
More documented proof is going to come out. Some of it might come out soon with the Mueller report. The SDNY's might take a while longer. But, rest assured, it's coming.Post edited by The Juggler onwww.myspace.com0

Docs are being requested for trump in-person meetings and phone calls with Putin. Not bad for Monday news.“Chairmen Schiff, Smith & Cummings: "President Trump, on multiple occasions, appears to have taken steps to conceal the details of his communications with President Putin... The White House failed to provide any response to our inquiry... we are now expanding our investigation."”

2017And with all the circus surrounding the Cohen testimony, Trumps approval rating climbs...
 https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/03/04/president-donald-trumps-approval-numbers-continue-climb/3053565002/
The Mueller probe is going to be a dud as well, unless they indict a family member... the general attitude has been collusion with the Russians and that Trump is beholden to the Kremlin and that just isnt the case it seems... all of this hype by the media and the non-Trump crowd (myself included) set the expectation that he was a russian stooge, and they just dont have it........
Dems better choose wisely in 2020

I'm not sure why you flaunt this arrogance of everyone else needs to "wake up". I'm pretty sure everyone here is well aware of the dangers of him being reelected. the reason why you see angry posts about Bernie running. there are a scant few that believe he will not finish his first term, or will and won't run in 2020. I honestly don't think either of those things will happen. I think that's more hope than believe.
I wish the democrats would rally together and just pick a team and go with it. fuck the primary which basically causes you to destroy your own candidates running up to the election. obviously THAT is living in dreamland, and I know that.
I don't think everyone is beholden to the idea that trump is a russian asset and that's what will bring him down. that is part of it, but I think most people just think he will eventually be found to have broken a few/many laws and be caught in some type of corruption that he can't recover from.
I personally don't think he's a russian asset. I think he admires Putin and how he operates and has the ultimate fear of his people. same with Un. that's why he cozies up to these assholes. not because he owes them anything. because he is jealous of them.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

2018You know... headline on CNN from an analysis piece "Dems now target Trump's entire world"...
I think this is a problem. There are so many issues to deal with that now those going after Trump and scattering in all different directions thinking that little pieces here or little pieces there and going to all add up. I think that is a terrible decision and plays directly into trumps political hands. He will continue to scream witch hunt as the dems move from one attack to the next and it really starts to look like a witch hunt. Except of course it is mostly all reasonable things to investigate. But the public perception won't care.
I still think the single worst thing Trump has done that should have him removed from office was ignoring all intel on Russian interference in the election (cause he was afraid it would lead to him) and not protecting our democracy/republic from foreign adversaries. First and foremost job of the president and he failed before he even took the oath. And he continues to fail every day. He has violated the oath of office.hippiemom = goodness0

Dude i read in here daily about resignation, mueller, impeachment, etc, etc,etc from multiple posters.... now that the democrats have thrown cold water on the idea of impeachment people are shifting towards resignation.... now that it appears there is no smoking gun coming out of the bob "walks on water" mueller russian investigation they are shifting towards the SDNY and taxes and porn star payoffs..... the media has driven a red scare and russian hysteria and hyped everythingHughFreakingDillon said:

2018You know I think both of you make good points here. I do think we need to wait for the report...however all the stuff that has happened leading up to it kinda makes it seem like there won't be a smoking gun.
Probably the 24/7 news and my inability to not pay attention to it that has me concerned. Lots of breaking new bombshells....that are minor hiccups for Trump. Trump apparently has some skills and 1 is mirroring the mob...keeping a distance. He seems like he will be ok...not because he isn't probably guilty of several things...but because he has isolated himself well. We will see if it even gets to Jr or Kushner.hippiemom = goodness0

I'm not saying it will happen either way. I don't know. I'm not sure how anyone can claim otherwise. Mueller indicts when he indicts. I mean, I don't recall anyone being able to predict who was going to get indicted before it happened. Many would speculate "oooh, it's going to be a big day today!", but no one had a clue who it would be. Sometimes they were right, many times nothing happened at all.my2hands said:Call me when it happens

            "THE FIELD"
"Breaking" is the most over-used word in media / social media today. Not particular to Trump; but so many are trying to get our small window of attention and "breaking" is now "Boy who Cried Wolf" to me. It no longer grabs my attention (and rarely should).cincybearcat said:You know I think both of you make good points here. Regarding Trump, I see a parallel here to why Trump haters (of which I am one) are so often on the edge of their seats thinking that his house of cards is about to fall down. "Trump Bombshell" usually turns out to be something that a) we know and b) we already know that most people don't care about. Most of us would be better off if there was no news coverage six days a week and the seventh day summarized the past week (or, better yet, if we just had 1990-era media coverage).
All that said, I remain baffled that the left has not really learned from all the previous big days, big weeks, and bombshells. Muller is not going to save us. The courts are not going to save us. Only the election can and, well, the left seems to complacent that he'll lose because he's stupid and corrupt. We're really going to need a candidate that can overcome that and get people to the polls. I don't see that person at this point.
