Is somebody really looking for this? As of yesterday, my local shop has three different van winkles $600, $1400 and $2000 for the bottle in the velvet bag.
I know the guys well so if you really wanted it I could put you in touch. I have no clue if that is what it normally costs. I am a scotch drinker and dont really care for bourbon.

    Sounds like a bottle of 15, 20 and 23!
Yep that is what they have.

Damn! Wish I won the draw For some pappy
Could have gotten it for $170 for the 15
    $280 for the 20 and $400 for the 23.
    That's quite the mark up.

    @tempo_n_groove.
I found me a bottle of el dorado rum 21 year old. Going to crack that one open this weekend.
The lady at the shop told me they hade two different 25 year old.
And from what I can see is, they have bottled a batch of 25 yr old in 1980, like you have. And bottled a different batch of 25 yr old in 1986.
    Both run $450 canadian.

That mark up is still cheap. The higher end bottles fetch even more than that.

That's cheap! I think your country has lax tax rules with Guyana maybe? I've seen them go for $600US so 480CA is a very good price.

Let that 21 warm up a bit before you drink it.

Also let me know what you think!!!

I enjoy my spirits neat or slightly chilled. Not a fan of having anything on the rocks. I'll have to keep this at room temp. Shit I might have to have a drink tonight lol.
I'll let you know what I think.

It was ok.. it's 100% corn so it was pretty sweet. Not sure I'd buy it again.

Took a night off from bourbon to enjoy the hell out of some Bell's Hopslam... I had a local shop pushing Hudson on me the other day; I passed and picked up some Elijah Craig Barrel Proof instead...

Is the Hopslam worth $17.99 a six pack?

I would say its worth it. Its almost impossible to find in Pennsylvania. I was lucky enough to get two 6 packs. Its a great beer with an ABV 0f 10%. That being said, am I allowed to say its a bit overhyped while agreeing its still a great beer?

Is it pretty readily available around you or is it still pretty tough to track down?

Grabbed the last bottle of Buffalo Trace off the shelf at a local liquor store today. That stuff is becoming quite the unicorn.

I always look forward to its release. Even better when you stumble upon a bar that has been sitting on a keg for a while to condition it a bit. Just a couple months...smooth smooth hopped honey, I tells ya'.

I love it! Great smell and taste of vanilla and a nice, not to sweet finish on it. I can only imagine what the 25 yr would taste like.
Going to get me a bottle of the15 yr old and see how it goes down.

Really??? There's so much of it up in Canada, I agree that it's good, but it can be found in abundance at just about every store up here.

The spot for Buffalo Trace is almost always empty around these parts. I've been told by a couple different shops that when they stock it they have people who come in and buy multiple bottles. Pennsylvania has a website for all the liquor stores and it has a store locator. Apparently people stalk that site and shipments of that and Blantons disappear almost as soon as it hits the shelf. I think for Buffalo Trace, its an excellent bourbon for the price.

I totally agree, great for price. Sorry to hear things are so cutthroat in Pennsylvania! It's too bad there's not more online merchants that you can order out of state for, we have the same problem in Canada. Our provinces regulate everything, so if I track down some in a nearby province, I have to first arrange them to ship to a friend in that province, and then have that person send it to me. It's kind of a nuisance, so I usually only do it if I've tracked down a rare bottle.

I was going to pick up a bottle of buffalo trace 3 or 4 days ago, but went with the woodford reserve double oaked instead. They had around 10-15 bottles of trace. Went back today and they were all gone lol.
Immediately I was like oh shit, is everyone in Toronto reading this thread lol.
Went to another shop and they had plenty.

Went through the Eagle Rare bottle quickly, good stuff for the price - still have half a bottle of Blantons to drink. I feel guilty drinking that when it's not with friends....
