TOTD Ticketmaster Tix... What a joke

Got shut out of the Tenclub lottery, so I just tried the Ticketmaster sale. What a joke that system is. Sold out in a matter of seconds, and Stubhub already has tickets starting at over $200. Tenclub should just take over all of the ticket sales!!

10C can't do that. They probably would if they could.

There probably weren't many tickets available today. The Chris Cornell presale sold a ton of tickets in both the 100 and 200 levels. The 10club had their tickets as well. Not to mention they aren't selling any seats behind the stage,

New York has one of the biggest metro populations in the United States, so you've got 10's of thousands of fans, plus bots, scalpers and what not all trying to buy tickets at the same time. If everyone tries at exactly the same time only a certain percentage are going to pull up anything.

Was able to have tickets behind the stage (section 419). Guess it's better than no tickets at all

I have tix through presale but tried for friends. No pairs and only seats behind the stage for singles. Didn't think it would be so hard today.

It's not just New York, it's pretty much the same everywhere for most shows. The system is broke. The scalpers or bots have found a way to take almost the entire tickets allotment in seconds. I tried for another band here in San Diego recently and got the same "tickets unavailable" message at the exact second the tickets went on sale. The only thing I can say is, I had much better luck from my phone than computer and even an hour later, I was able to score really good seats. Just kee trying and tickets will pop up.

No they aren't. Ticketmaster started running their own scalping sceme right on their website (you can now view tickets for resale right on TM). Stubhub does nothing but facilitate transactions and charge 10% to the seller for doing so. Anyone can list on Stubhub from professional brokers, to a poor schmo trying to offload extra tickets, to a small time ticket reseller who does their own thing.

I have never experienced anything like that before - in all of the times I have bought tickets for shows... The very second it went on sale it seemed sold out.

I really have had no luck recently, but..

I'm down at a beach house for the week, so went up to the Boardwalk which has wifi...with my iPad and iPhone. At 12:00 the iPad had me wait in the typical "searching for tickets" for a good 5 mins, while safari on iPhone said "unable to process request". Then, I figured let me install the TM app on my phone while I was still in limbo on iPad. so I downloaded it, signed in, and scored 3 tickets in 200s. Had to have been 12:10 by the time all of that went down.

  • Bots got all the tickets unfortunately. Best bet is to try for one ticket and see what u get. Also tickets are not released at 10am on the dot. It's my experience that 5 - 10min after tickets begin appearing. I got 4th row floor seats for the Tragically Hip 20 min after the show was supposedly sold out.

You really think there are enough people interested in seeing Temple of the Dog so badly that they are on-line right at noon and buying all the tickets that MSG has?

I can name 10 people in one small town in CT that were trying. If you add up all the small towns in around NYC and multiply that by 10 you will get to 18,000 pretty quickly. Not to mention the ten of us were trying on multiple sources.

Why can't these established bands make these shows "immediate entry" only!? I know NYC has a law against it, but bands need to speak up on this. Getting tickets to anything has become impossible.

yes. New York has 20 million in it's Metro area and this doesn't include all the other big cities that are less than a day's drive away. You only need a fraction of a fraction of a percent of those people wanting to go and it's not enough tickets.

I'd hate to live in a big market like that. Makes getting tickets next to impossible.
