Judo: Kelmendi OK to refuse France drug test - IJF
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-olympics-rio-judo-kosovo-idUSKCN10K02F
This must be the link to said athlete and appears to be a non issue with the Judo Federation and she was in her right to refuse. I will support any person who exercise's their rights ... she tested clean the following week. I have no idea how long it takes to get PED out of the system, the article make no mention of whether she has ever tested positive ... so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. No mention of the chinese?I have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... I don't believe anything the government tells me ... George Carlin

Okay Dimitris, I don't think you are quite accurately reporting this story. I just did a quick search, and it says she refused a drug test BEFORE the Olympics when the French anti-doping agency requested one two months ago (you made it seem like she refused after she won the medal and was asked to do the test by Olympic authorities). The French consequently suspended her in France, and that ban doesn't apply outside of France. And she wasn't the only one:dimitrispearljam said:majlinda kelmendi from kosovo...

she REFUSE to get tested and didnt geive sample..
and they let her go and keep the golden medal..i rest my case
"Kelmendi was not the only athlete to decline the test after questioning the authority of the testing officer and did so only after her coach consulted with the International Judo Federation’s anti-doping officer." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/olympics/2016/08/08/rio-olympics-2016-kosovas-history-making-judoka-suspended-after/
And the International Judo Federation has said that it's okay that she refused that test: http://au.eurosport.com/judo/rio/2016/olympics-rio-2016-majlinda-kelmendi-ok-to-refuse-drug-test-says-international-judo-federation_sto5714817/story.shtml
"Coaches from several countries were surprised by the procedures of this control and asked for advice from the IJF anti-doping specialist," the federation said.
"She cautiously expressed that in view of the reported facts, they had no obligation to do the test in those conditions."

Judo's governing body said that athletes were not obliged to take unscheduled drug tests when training in France in June and that those who refused, including Kosovo's gold medallist Majlinda Kelmendi, subsequently tested negative the next week.
The unannounced doping tests were organised during the training camp in Saint-Cyprien for French athletes, the International Judo Federation said in a statement on Tuesday.
The controller was surprised to also meet foreign athletes who had been training with the French and decided to test them by asking for their judo results in order to test the world's best athletes, the IJF said.
"Coaches from several countries were surprised by the procedures of this control and asked for advice from the IJF anti-doping specialist," the federation said.
"She cautiously expressed that in view of the reported facts, they had no obligation to do the test in those conditions."
Amid doubts over the testing, some athletes underwent tests while others, like Kelmendi and Martyna Trajdos of Germany, did not.
When informed about the case, IJF President Marius Vizer decided to test those who did not submit to the testing the following week, and the results were negative, the IJF said.
The Guardian newspaper on Monday quoted Agron Kuka, head of the Kosovo Judo Federation, as saying that Kelmendi had refused the drug test but that she was clean.
"The team was in the training camp in France and some person came and asked to do the doping control. But the person involved, she didn't have any authorisation from WADA or anyone. And that's the end of the story."
The IJF confirmed to Reuters that Kelmendi had taken several drug tests this year, including in Rio on Sunday, the day she became the first athlete from Kosovo to win an Olympic medal."Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Just want to highlight that I edited my last post to mention that she submitted to a drug test in Rio on Sunday. This is NOT a scandal or a problem at all. Seems almost like certain reporters just want to slander the woman. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0

I just read this article this morning about the Russian female swimmer - I saw the race last night with the American taunting her. It's an interesting article because it talks about both sides - the American being a little classless, but the Russian being a total doper. Read through to the end about how she'd been banned and wasn't even supposed to be at the Olympics and then she "showed up" on Saturday, 90 minutes before the race.

A non issue ... my approach to the olympics is take it for what its worth, its very political ... so I just watch for the enjoyment, if a winner gets caught cheating I don't get to bothered by it anymore, just like any sport. Take it for what its worth.PJ_Soul said:Just want to highlight that I edited my last post to mention that she submitted to a drug test in Rio on Sunday. This is NOT a scandal or a problem at all. Nothing classless in my eyes about King's reaction to allowing a cheater to swim. And King backed it up in the pool.Enkidu said:I just read this article this morning about the Russian female swimmer - I saw the race last night with the American taunting her. Did you read the article I posted about it? It does explain it. She was advised not to because of those particular circumstances, and has done tests since. I'm not saying it's impossible that she and others refused in France because they were worried about testing positive, but that is a real blind assumption without some evidence and without any support from any official organization besides the one that is being accused of inappropriate methods. I think you ran with this one too quickly Dimitris.dimitrispearljam said:anyone refused to pass a test,,should be banned..end of story..

Yeah, this particular story is a non-issue. Although just because someone allows themselves to be tested at the Olympics it doesn't mean they don't dope. It just means that they know how not to test positive during a particular period of time. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Also it's very presumptuous and somewhat insulting for you to say that a lot of us don't have a clue about the political situation in EuropePost edited by jnimhaoileoin on0 -
agreed ... i don't think this athlete has ever tested positive, just refused this one test on advice she received and the judo federation back her up ... that also doesn't mean an athlete is not cheating, just not caught ... i'll give her the benefit of the doubt in this case.I have certain rules I live by ...
