Lived in Dublin for 9 years and never saw my two favourite bands at the Point. Plus of all the bands I'd love to see there, the layout for the light show would be just insane. Am very jealous to not be at my second home right now. Enjoy lad, buggered if I know if Fibber's and Club Hell are still open but if they are they'd be heaving.

Saw them this week in Birmingham.  Wow - what a night!  Brass Against were pretty good and well worth a watch.

On to the main event. Tool never missed a beat - it was 100% from all four of them all night long.  Twelve songs, 2.5 hours, with a heavy focus on the new album (as you'd expect), along with Sober, Right In Two and Pushit, amongst others.  The visuals were outstanding, and whatever Danny is being paid, they need to double it!

Can't believe it was 16 years ago since I last saw them.  Hope I don't have to wait that long for the next show.

Was an amazing show. Got Sober too but pneuma was the highlight for me. So loud but clear. Hopefully we don't have to wait another 16 years.JT167846 said:

Sure did enjoy it. Last time I went to fibbers was 2000 after the pj  show. Never went near the place when I lived in Dublin. Think it still is open

Looks like they filmed both London gigs. First night Opiate The Pot The Patient Descending and Ticks, second night Sober Undertow Right In Two 7empest and Hooker. Fucking awesome.

Awesome seeing 7empest being played... To be honest though, I'm a more jealous of them getting Undertow... I was holding my breath for that in Cleveland and was a little disappointed we didn't get it.

It's also pretty awesome to see the signs about the show being filmed... I would kill for a live DVD from these guys.

I agree, and while I know nothing’s guaranteed, this is an interesting development:

Amazon is selling FI at $118 if anyone is still on the fence

The Fear Inoculum vinyl seems to be about as "limited" as the Lateralus vinyl.

It’s such a stupid label.  If it’s not numbered with an announced run you shouldn’t even say it.

still a great sounding album though (not Lateralus)

just picked up a FI vinyl from Amazon Warehouse Deals for $89. Listing said the cover was damaged but I didn’t see any and the records look good. I’ve been seeing some lately for under $100.

Agreed. I love every Tool album, but Lateralus is on another level for me.

I rate Lateralus as the best rock album of the millennium so far. It's insanely good.

    It really is their masterpiece.

Aenima will always be my favorite by them for sentimental reasons, but Lateralus is their best album, hands down.

I liked 10,000 days more than Lateralus and I know I am in the minority.

I like FI more than them all. That probably puts me in the minority too. To me it’s their best work.

    #1) Aenima
    #1A) Lateralus
    3) Undertow
    4) Fear Inoculum
    5) 10,000 Days

FI might be a better / more polished album than Undertow, but like w/ Aenima, the nostalgia of my first introduction to the band clouds my judgment.

10,000 days has some great stuff on it, but feels less like an album to me as it does a collection of songs.

I also find Wings for Marie / 10,000 Days to be boring and anti climactic (Blasphemy, I know, it is what it is).

The song literally builds into a climax... A crescendo if you will.

No doubt, but I find that crescendo pretty underwhelming, when considering the buildup towards it (& the fact that it's the title track).

It's at the point where I skip those 2 songs when I listen to the album because when it hits that crescendo I feel like I wasted my time getting there :D.

It's my opinion that if not for the lyrical content, those two songs wouldn't be half as highly regarded as they are.

“Tell them their pillar of strength has ascended.” That whole set of lyrics…oh man, they just get me.
