Except this was actually planned word for word but thanks for playing the "It's okay to plagiarize if you're white and republican" double standard straw man game.

I had the same thoughts. It could be sabotage, but also the quality of the Trump speech writers has to be the bottom of the barrel, so complete incompetence is a very real possibility. Would you want to have Trump on your resume in the future after all the stuff he has spouted out?

On the other hand this gives Trump a great opportunity to take to the stage and say "You're Fired!".

America loves that catchphrase. The crowd will go wild!

^^^ Pretty shocking really. He's really surrounded himself with a bunch of nutjobs at this convention. I, like others, wonder if it's not to make Trump appear more reasonable. To set him up as the most sane crazy person in the insane asylum.

Conventions are always filled with stupid rhetoric anyway. They're rah-rah sessions to fire up the party faithful. The speakers are just cheerleaders, and the attendees have all consumed the Kool-aid. It is a funny spectacle but nobody should be tuning in to hear or see anything substantive.

It's shocking that these are the leaders of a nation though. The people at this convention have a lot of power, and they are interested in seeing political speeches or in being "pumped up" by someone from Duck Dynasty, and are okay with listening to someone who went on TV and basically gave a hate speech. Just that any leaders in the USA are remotely okay with such a spectacle is disturbing. I mean seriously, wtf??? I think that any of this is happening at all is substantive.
