hey guys... i've got the official word from the ten club on the box set...

    May 10, 11:00 AM

There are no plans for a Superdeluxe Box Set for these albums.
    Thanks
    10c

i... for one... am super bummed about this... maybe if enough of us request it...???

Don't like half-assing stuff. they should have stuck to their plan of relasing every album like that.,
With the Vault series they are already releasing old shows on vinyl. I haven't looked back at the box set since I bought the first time. Not everyone is like that but it was cool the first two times and I would rather them focus on the future at this point instead of the past. Springsteen can get away with it because he is a one man show with employees (E Street Band) and can do what he wants/when he wants. PJ is 5 people that only have limited time for Pearl Jam. New music and tours!

Expensive week, first the Radiohead Special Edition Vinyl, and now this.

    No kidding...
And the first four Floyd albums are available for pre-order with the rest out later this year...

And the whole Sublime catalog as well...

Tons of stuff I've wished for forever...all at the same time.

    I'll have to pace myself...somehow.

Wow, great news, thanks 10c. I'll be ordering both now. So glad I held off from buying insanely prices 1st presses or those poor quality bootlegs.

that is more surprising than 10c releasing these things!

I know mine aren't going down in value as they are signed by the band.

I caved and ordered new copies of everything. I know I'll be disappointed if they release a box set later on. Just because I know I'll double dip on it.

I do feel like maybe they did give up on the boxsets though. It felt like they wanted to do them, but didn't want to do them. I assumed the only reason we didn't get vinyl earlier was because they were waiting to do them.

My No Code/Yield's are well loved, and who knows if this pressing is a one off thing. I figure it wouldn't hurt to get new pressings... reordered the singles too because i'm a sucker :)

now that these albums are FINALLY mastered for vinyl I would sell any overvalued original pressings some of you guys may be holding onto... i think their value is about to plummet and I assume the sound might be inferior as well

I won't sell mine until i hear these remasters. the Ludwig mixes for the SP remasters left a lot to be desired. not sure if PJ was involved in these mixes but i am glad i held on to my original LPs.

at least Ludwig is old school and hopefully PJ recorded to Analog. i know this has been discussed before but i can't remember if No Code and Yield were analog or not...

the OG Yield is not very impressive so i am looking forward to this remaster.
    what are the SP remasters?
Smashing Pumpkins.... they went thru a whole remastered for vinyl campaign as well and they didn't sound so good compared to the original versions. Ludwig was behind the Gish and the Siamese Dream i think.
interesting... I heard some of the SP reissues sounded amazing... ive never heard them so I cant speak on it

What's really crazy is it cost me a little over half the price I just paid for No Code, Yield and ALL of the singles just to buy the new Radiohead vinyl! Shipping on that was insane.

I just got into vinyl when I got a player with my tax return money this year. I mostly get cheap used ones but Pearl Jam is a rare band I will go all in for especially for the packaging that they are masters at. I'll get NC on my next paycheck.

are peeps really buying these for a monetary value though? and theoretically you'll still have demand for those that want original pressings (though admittedly this demand may go down a little)...

@Santos L. Halper are these going to be cut from the original analog tapes and where will the records be pressed? Also, what does "mastered specifically for vinyl" entail? Your pal bUCK

The Hail Hail single was too expensive for me back in the day as it was an import only.

According to PJ Collectors, Hail Hail was never released as a 7" single.

I meant the cd single. Back then they'll release the singles overseas first. And then 2 years later or so release it here. That's why I believe Alive and Even Flow even though they were hits. Never got to gold or platinum status

Just purchased them all. I don't think this affects the value of the original pressing. Makes them more rare IMO.

Jeff has stated several times he is tired of "looking back". he seems VERY busy these days with all of his side ventures anyway. I'd prefer him to do his skate park initiatives and new music with friends than just putting a box set full of stuff I don't need anyway. (or obviously, whatever makes the man happy).

I am really proud of 10C for not doing the massive combined boxset that I think some were assuming they would do. Love that they are just reissuing them the way they ought to be. Those big boxsets just seem like conspicuous consumerism to me. Also proud of them for not splitting the albums between 2 discs in an attempt to make them seem more substantial (so that they can charge more). Curious about the comment re No Code finnally being mastered for vinyl for the first time. Will the reissue sound better than the original?? I've got both originals, but these aren't expensive, so if one or both actually sound BETTER than the OGs, I'd probably grab them.

I don't need the super duper deluxe magnum box set with all the vinyl and stuff, but I was really hoping something would come of the Moline/Milwaukee shows from 2014. Or at least some unreleased stuff and a show from 96. Something like the deluxe CD sets from Ten and Vs/Vitalogy.

I hate to complain becuase I know a lot of you have been waiting for something like this, but as someone that doesn't have a turntable and loves No Code this is pretty underwhelming. Especially considering this is probably the least documented era of their career.

Happy for all you vinyl lovers though!

Agree. For those of us who don't have the originals and don't want to pay a mint for them (or for a box set), this is amazing.

I think if you paid a lot of money for originals, you were enough of a vinyl lover that you knew this day would come and could care less cause you didn't buy the records for their value.

I can only speak for myself of course.

Originals will always retain value, maybe not the crazy numbers PJ fans will pay, but more than reissues.
