I wouldn't be surprised if he gets permission to do a second variant of the poster which will be offered to those who are refunded. Those who are disappointed could then be overjoyed at owning the most collectable version.

On a side note if you sell 400 prints on your website at $100. Does the artist get to keep all of the $40,000 minus the printing and eCommerce costs. Presumably they get paid by the band for the artwork in the first place as well. Anyone know how it works?

Does the artist not get to decide the # of prints?

I would have thought it would be their discretion, but I really have no idea to be honest.
No. The artist is commissioned by the band for their artwork and is paid either traditionally or with APs to sell at whatever price they want or a combination of both. But the artist does not own the gig poster and cannot decide just to make more. Lots of artists will take the art and release what is known as an "art print" without the band's name or any of gig details. But without the band's permission they do not get to just create as many posters as they want and keep printing money.

Not that it matters since it's such a small sample size but my variant time stamp was 12:00:53

This is what I thought, I presume if the artist wanted to do another variant to make up for an error like this then they would have to come to a legal and financial agreement with the band although I see no reason why they couldn't do this. If an artist keeps the profits from the APs they sell then that is a big pay day. I bet they must be pinching themselves if they get commissioned by PJ.

Does anyone know how many posters PJ actually sell at a concert? Concert posters are not really a big thing here in the UK which I'm kind of glad about, I love them and just collect a few to have on my record room walls but I don't take it seriously.

They sent me an email crediting me for ONE of the two variants I bought BEFORE 12:00
When I purchased them I had gone directly to his site. Not knowing if he was selling them at all. There they were for sale. I knew nothing about a limit or what time they were suppose to go on sale. So I got 2,thinking I was the luckiest guy. Then when I came here, I heard all the flaming.
I never planned on flipping them. One was going to be used as a funds raiser for my son's memorial fund at Boston Children's.
    I hope you feel better

I thought Welker said he was done with Pearl Jam prints for the year. I hope I'm wrong. His MSG print was awesome.

Definitely hoping for Munk One though as his prints are always amazing.

PM me some info on your son's memorial. I don't have a Thomas Fenway to contribute, but I may have something else.

I think the list does shed light.... for instance, if you are behind a cancellation time-wise than I wouldnt feel very confident.
Also, we get to see a general distribution.
Its also interesting the ratio is pretty even with variants vs regulars.
