Star Wars isn't even the best album wilco has had in 20 years. It's good but not great

No one said it's their best but, it's their best since AGIB! It's a great album for this late in the game and certainly better then anything PJ has done since Yield!

Sky Blue Sky and Wilco have some really good songs but, those are easily the 2 worst albums in their canon! Their good albums nothing more, way too much filler on both!!

Sky Blue Sky came out less than 10 years ago. I agree it's better than Star Wars. But then again, I didn't much care for it when it first came out. It grew on me over the years. Maybe I'll come back to this thread in 2020 and go on about what a masterpiece Star Wars is.

Now, as far as (The Album) goes, I was beginning to think I'm the only one who likes it. It's far from their best stuff but I don't think it deserves the near-universal trashing it gets among fans.

About to rustle some more feathers but, they are better then PJ right now live and with new music!

You're on the wrong board my friend lol...

I just can't get into Wilco. I like a handful of songs (and LOVE the Billy Bragg albums) but remember listening to Star Wars once a while back and never thinking about it since. I know something is wrong with me, just can't fix it.

Wilco records take time to grow on you and you need to hear the songs live. I did not really care for the Wilco record and the Whole love. SW has five songs that I really like.

Jeff and Jay...wonder what kind of music they would be making if Jay was still alive and in the band? While it's obvious Nels is the better guitar player I still think they made better music w/ Jay!

So are you saying you initially didn't care for them but The Whole Love and (The Album) have grown on you? or that you still don't really dig them?

Just noticed where the band 'Twin Peaks' is listed as their opener for the 8/21 Chicago show. Anyone know anything about them? Any recommendations on where to start listening to them?
