Wilco is playing a hometown show that Sunday between PJ shows at Wrigley

So for those looking for something to do between shows.

They are playing Pritzker Pavillion in Millenium Park. Best setting in the city to see an outdoor show. But it will be packed.

Awesome! Thanks for the head's up. I might have to check that out depending on what my schedule looks like.

Sidenote: I handled the finance side for a job that my company did for the Pritzker Realty Group a few years ago. Talk about a pain in the ass. Wasn't their fault though, it was the contractor balking at every turn.

From the pictures, the park looks like it could hold tens of thousands. Does anyone know the capacity? I tried to google it but found nothing.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

Pritzker holds roughly 11,000. 4k fixed seats & around 7k lawn.

You will still have an awesome time, but keep in mind that you can't see any part of the stage from at least two-thirds of the lawn, all but the very front of it. The sound is world-class though, particularly for an outdoor venue.

Great place to see a show. Saw MMJ and Band of Horses from the grass (sound is awesome) and Glen Hansard from the seats.

The only way this show sells out at all is if everyone that's coming to town to see PJ that weekend also goes to the Wilco show.

They went on sale almost a month ago and there are still tickets available for both of Jeff's solo shows at the Vic this May. Obviously there's a big difference between a Jeff show and a Wilco show but the Vic's capacity is like one tenth of what we're talking about for this show in August.

To be fair, that's a $150 a ticket benefit show.

This is shaping up to be a GREAT year for us buddy...
Got plenty of PJ shows on tap,
Seeing My Morning Jacket in Indy the Thursday before the Indy 500,
Hitting Atlanta for The Cure in June...
AND now a hometown Wilco show in Chicago!!
All I need now are a few Band Of Horses shows later this year and I'll be a very happy camper!!

This will sell out without a doubt. The Pavillion will be gone on Friday for certain. Most of the lawn too.

Never under estimate a mid size band playing an outdoor show in the Summer in Chicago. People come out of the woodwork.

That I believe but it's not going to sell out "faster than Wrigley." My sister in law lives in Chicago and when we went to M. Park 6 years ago I remember her telling me the Decemberists had played there. I thought it was huge for a band like that to play. I know David Gray played there a few years ago too.

Someone keep your eye on the ticket sales on Friday and report back to us ok? ;)
