Wow I only saw this like an hour ago- do people think they'll add a few western shows in that month of space they have then?!
I'm like an opening band for your mom.

It could be a special performance based on the fact it appears to be in the middle of nowhere; don't they like that stuff like Moline was, small venue etc. It also seems like a lot less pretentious as far as festivals are concerned; doubt very much the Kardashians will be doing selfies or in attendance.

i haven't been to the gorge but have been to red rocks and the town park in telluride so i can say this for certain....this will be a special show just because of the scenery. it's stunningly beautiful there.

I think I may have to do this. If there are more shows I hope they announce them because I have no self-control to pass up on this right now.

Very cool! But I guess this means no Red Rocks again. :(

what about this announcement "means no Red Rocks".
You're right. My bad I didn't realize that telluride was way down in the southwest corner of the state. I assumed it was by Breckenridge or Aspen. Red rocks is definitely still a possibility!

I can not wait for this summer! This announcement came waaaaay out of left field for me! You can bet your sweet ass I will be in the front row for this one. Our local DJs have been hinting at a Colorado date for months. I totally agree that this could be one of those special, magical shows. Even if it's not I'll be there to find out :peace:
Oh, and about Red Rocks: I read an article in the Denver paper a few months ago and I guess they were going to lower the allowed decibel limit for shows since residents surrounding the area have complained for years about the "noise". The article inferred that those acts who like it turned up to 11 may not be welcome. Makes me think a typical show might not be possible there. However it would be AMAZING to get an acoustic set! Just sayin :lucky:

I think the big noise problem at Red Rocks wasn't so much how loud (which is a problem for the locals) but the thumping bass from all the EDM shows that are getting booked there.

RR is still booking bands that are mixed louder than PJ so this would not be the case at all.

I'm hoping that that rumored pending show I saw on a leaked Toyota center coming attractions list on Face book still holds true. After the earlier announcement, I was bummed, but, then as we all have seen, no west coast dates yet. So, maybe this Colorado announcement is the optimism of the west coast leg with places like Houston and a few others before going to the west coast. I still have hope.

how the hell does someone make this work coming from phila??... I would like to scratch bonnaroo and do this instead, but it doesn't look like an easy trip to make happen... logistically or financially. If anyone is going from the denver area, and has room for 1, I will have plenty of cash for gas, food, drinks, herbs, merchandise... whatever you like.

I think they are long overdue for an acoustic show. Would be great to have another Benaroya Hall style show...maybe a string of dates...

I'm assuming the closest airport is Durango?

I did the math as well. It's a very tough trip financially. The closest airport is actually the cheapest, but it's still 2 hours away. Also, the hotels are very expensive that weekend and there aren't many to choose from. You can head up to the ski resorts but those are even more expensive. Denver is 6 hours away so the 150 bucks you save on your flight will be used on the ride there.

Looks like Saturday was $125 and Sunday was $95, if this is correct. Eventbrite though. With PJ Im curious if they would even offer single days though.

I could see flying to denver 7/6, grab a car, stay a night there. drive to telluride on 7/7, start camping a day early. I think I saw you can camp early , for a fee obviously. Problem is no camping gear, can't fly over with canopies, coolers, tarps, etc...
