During the intro of Wasted Reprise at Berlin 7-5-12 Ed says that its their 999th show which would make Stockholm 2012 their 1000th. So it looks like they are way past 1000 already

Yeah...this certainly happened so you would figure it's correct but the historical records on any site just does not back it up.

I've only skimmed the rest of the thread (and we're all nuts) but without any other input from anyone official, I'd say we use the past tour setlists listed on this website.

Which puts Mexico City '15 at 965. Wrigley Night 2 in August '16 would be 988.

If PJ/10c lists the show as a setlist, it counts. If not, it doesn't. I mean, if they were going to do something (and that's equally possible and not possible) they'd use their count and ignore we crazies and our "This, but not that"s!

Except they themselves are not being consistent on what is included as a show AND they have left off obvious concerts that every other tracking site includes.

I just can't wrap my head around people thinking the band performing a song or two on a late night talk show or Saturday Night Live counts a Pearl Jam concert. A "performance," yes. But a "concert/show," no. Come on guys.

This is included in numbers and should. Food poisioning tried to get in the way but the show went on!

Yeah. So who knows. Maybe they just do it to watch our collective heads explode.

What about when Eddie used to come out REAL early and play a song or two for the few lucky people who showed up early? That's a seperate performance from that night's show.

Also, Wrigley '13-before the storm and after the storm...two separate days (before/after midnight), 2 seperate performances, right?

    Please update your spreadsheets.

Under that logic, shouldn't Mansfield 2003 count as four shows?

Nobody is arguing with that. The question is should those performances be included in the countdown to 1000. Again I say yes because that is the only way you can reach a hard number.

Big Update - I found a double count on Livefootsteps. They included sound check/rehearsal for one SNL date as a separate show. I think everyone would agree this should not count...it's a damn sound check. This reduces total performance number back to 985 and if you are counting total performances then #1000 will be Quebec City.

well 2 days has gone by still n answer from 10 c.
So why don't we all wait to their answer and everyone just agree with their answer as the correct number
But I'm sure they are people will be able to try to debunk anything 10 c say anyway, but we all either find out what show 1000 will be & agree with their answer or just make show 1000 where ever you want it to be.

I'm sorry but I just see the 10c shaking their head when they get e-mails like people trying to figure out when the 1000th show is... lol...

I have to imagine the real answer is no one knows for sure. I'm guessing the record keeping for 90/91/early 92 before they got famous is a little sketchy. I imagine there's a number of small bar shows that are undocumented. No one remembers the exact date, setlists or what not....

I agree the band won't care but in fact it is actually pretty well documented.

Yeah, I was just coming to say that. There's an "ultralimited edition, sealed, colored" vinyl on eBay of this show for $150.

Well, if we're being honest this thread was more an argument about what is and is not a show than it was about the music.

Who cares? There will be shows before and between Fenway and wrigley so counting now is absurd. They still have to tour the central and western US... Any time spent on this right now is totally wasted even IF you somehow found an official answer lol

It is not absurd if one is counting total number of performances as that would make Quebec City #1000.
