I talked to SVRDhand13 about this, but just looking for clarity since my location changed a bit. I am staying on South 5th St in Brooklyn. Hoping to get into the area early afternoon on Sunday the 1st. Any suggestions as to get into the city (MSG area) and back? Looking for safest, least stressful ways, haha. I assume Uber would be easiest, but not sure how much that would cost? I was told that it was 1 stop into Manhattan on the J, M, Z lines. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

M train is weekday only... Z train is weekday rush-hour only. You would take the J one stop from Marcy Ave. in Brooklyn to Essex/Delancy in Mahnattan and then transfer to the F train to continue uptown (to 34th Street Herald Square). http://web.mta.info/maps/submap.html

Uber/hailed taxi will cost more than train ($2.75) of course - if I had to estimate, I'd say close to $25-30.

It's one stop to the LES. But there's an easy way to get to MSG. Just take the M train straight to 34th st and walk over two avenues. Easy peasy.

Goes to Delancey on weekends according to MTA website. So for Sunday just transfer to the F at Delancey, for Monday you can take the M the whole way.

Don't believe so, unless I'm reading this wrong. http://web.mta.info/nyct/service/mline.htm Essex/Delancey is a part-time stop and "PART-TIME Train does not always operate or sometimes skips this station. (stops weekdays 5:45 am to 11:30 pm)"

I appreciate all the help guys/gals. At least now I feel like I have a better understanding of what I'm doing. I can also reach out to the airbnb host who lives in Brookly as she'll probably have a good idea as well.

Thanks again! Only 19 more days!!

    Hello!
I am desperately looking for an MSG #1 GA... or at least a good ticket.... Really want to trade my extra Night 2GA for a Night 1 GA. I would also trade for a seat with a good 10C #..... but I LOVE being GA. I've been in the 10c for 20 years and will exchange ticket confirmations with you. I also have a lot of friends that will vouch for me on the board.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE..... if you have an extra GA Night 1..... I have your Night #2. Please PM me.... or better yet.... email me at GTFLYGIRL@Gmail.com. Either or both. Thanks for reading and if you have my ticket..... Lets make a deal!!! Thanks- Linda

You will have a bar stool to sit on, but it's Pearl jam so you won't be sitting anyways. I've been in these seats for a Rangers game, it was a pretty cool perspective being up over the floor. Not sure how great they are for a show, but for MSG you take what you can get.

Where is the pre-party at? Is there a consensus drinking hole within 1-2 blocks of MSG that the PJ faithful hang before the show?

Thanks to Suziemay and all who have contributed to this thread! A friend and I are coming from California and neither of us has been to New York before- I can't wait!

I've got a couple questions: We're landing in Newark at about 5:00pm and we're staying in Astoria/Long Island City (32nd St and 35th Ave -ish) - I know, poor planning. Anyway, here's my questions...

    1) Any suggestions on pizza or burgers in the area?

    2) Any general suggestions about getting around the area, things to see/do, etc.?

    Thanks again!

Anyone ever attend a taping of Colbert or Fallon? Got tickets to both on Monday and wondering if I'll be able to attend that and still make it to the venue in time for MSG2.

Sunswick on 35th & 35th is a bar with a lot of beer options, I can't remember if they have a kitchen, but I think they do and I think I liked their burger, Sanfords on Broadway between 30 & 31st is an awesome 24 hour spot with fantastic butternut squash ravioli & gouda stuffed duck burgers! The regular burgers are good too, pizza from Sac's Dino's on Broadway and 30th or Leo's on 36th ave and 31st.

You also need to go out for Greek food if you're staying in that area. OH! And arepas from arepas cafe on 36th ave and like 34thish st.

There's a beer garden called studio sq on 37th St between 36 & 35th ave if it's nice out and there's games you wanna watch.

As for things to do you're by the museum of moving image if you're into that

Got out of Colbert at 7pm when PJ played. You can grab a slice and get to MSG by 8.

Depends how fast you walk. 20 minutes - half hour. You've gotta cross like half the width of Manhattan, about 5 avenues, plus 7 blocks.

Did you get an e-mail confirming Fallon tickets, or are you just still on the waitlist? I got thru on the day they went up and got an e-mail that day, but haven't heard anything since.
