Dave knows how to play the game! It really isn't a game though. It is common sense. There are plenty of tickets to go around except for the high demand markets. This is true regardless of whether F5 is still applicable or not.

Thanks buddy... I kind of think of the lottery as a game of Blackjack. It is a lot of luck, but there is a little skill involved in ordering your selections!! The only show I was really worried about was Toronto, so I made it my #1 pick and went for reserved instead of chancing the riskier GA ticket. I went with Lexington next, because we have a crew of 6 people heading down for this show and the odds looked really good to still get this one as a #2 reserved pick. We decided to do the Lexington show as a one-off... because it's the closest thing to a "hometown" show for us, and we can get there and back in the same day! The two SE US shows were at 99% at the end of the lottery period... and by not doubling up or wasting my choices on trying for GA tickets for the same selections, I won these as my 4th and 5th choices. I'm doing the 4 shows in 6 day run in SC/VA/NC as well. My ticket buddy AnotherTourPlease picked up our Greenville and Hampton Roads reserved tickets with her first and second choices!! Then we are wrapping up the tour in Canada with the Ottawa and Toronto shows... sure would be nice if the rumors of a second show are true!!! My ticket buddy for the Canada shows took Toronto first and Ottawa second to give us a better shot at scoring tickets...we both won Toronto and Ottawa tickets!! He got Lexington Reserved as his third pick too!! We all have pretty decent 10 Club #'s and have done tons of GA shows, so we went for the easier to acquire reserved seats. I may head over to New Orleans and do Jazz Fest after the Columbia show, haven't made up my mind yet!!

I would have had a snowballs chance in hell at anything past my 3rd selection, but I maybe, possibly could have landed a Philly-Res if I got super duper lucky...

Everything after pick number 3 was basically for fun. Chances I'd hit any of those were next to nothing, but hey...you never know lol. just wanted to see what would happen. Never been to NYC before, and was able to get Philly in 13, so I decided to go for MSG as my number 1. My ticket buddy put in for MSG 1 as his #1, but didn't win. But at least we'll be there one night. Lexington was the other one I really wanted, so put that as #2. Thought about putting the Lex GA as #2, but was afraid I'd get shut out on that one and then possibly lost Lex altogether if I dropped it to #3, But very happy with my picks
First Choice: Greenville Reserved- WON Second Choice: Lexington Reserved- WON Third Choice: Raleigh Reserved- WON Fourth Choice: Columbia Reserved- WON
Since Greenville was the show with the lowest odds out of my 4, and it was the one I wanted the most, I had to place it first to have the best chance of getting it. Similarly for Lexington, it's odds were better than Gville, but worse than Raleigh and Columbia, so it came second to have best chance in terms of priorities. Then Raleigh and Columbia could come last as my 3rd and 4th because they were at 99%, and as a 3rd or 4th pick, the odds were still very good. I appreciate many fans sharing their knowledge and experience of how the lottery works and how to have best odds. I studied up on it before I made my choices/priorities, and it worked. Plus, the odds of all my shows were either pretty good or excellent. However, placing Greenville for example, last at 50% odds or less at that point in my list would have been a mistake. I may have lost it then.

if i were to put a #3,4 5 pick down, say Philly 2 GA, MSG 1 GA etc, woudl that have hurt my chances for my 1st and 2nd pick? I dont think it would, but i didnt want to lower my chances for either of them
1. Greenville GA - WON 2. Greenville Reserved - LOST 3. Raleigh GA - LOST 4. Raleigh Reserved - WON
Was worried about somehow getting shut out of Greenville because of putting GA #1 (would have found a way to go regardless), and Raleigh GA was just taking a shot at #3 as I felt pretty confident with the 99% odds that I would get reserved at #4. And then my friend from Seattle texts me that she got Raleigh GA tickets, and wants to give me her other (like winning the lotto all over again)!!!! So I gifted my Raleigh Reserved to some friends in Raleigh who are putting me up for the night. Gonna be a fun trip!
