That would be all kinds of amazing and for him we'd need a proper GA atmosphere because I'd want to be one of the girls he needs onstage for a rowdy session of "Shake your Hips". And then bring RR out during the show for some funked up jam.
The Black Keys or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club...
These 2 bands kick some serious ass...THe Black Keys are fucking incredible Live, if you have not seen them, you ARE missing out.
It would be nice to get a supporting act that was worth seeing. I know people drool over KOL like they're some big deal, but I just don't hear it. Modest Mouse took a backseat to REM and could really blow some minds in the PJ world.
Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
See this needle...a see my hand...
Drop drop dropping it down...oh so gently...
Well here it comes...I touch the plane...
Turn me up...won't turn you away...
Just listened to Wolf Parade for the first time today- they would be a cool opener. I would like The National too.
2 out of 3 times I saw PJ there was no opener and that was good but I like to see some lesser known bands to "get me ready" for PJ. Plus, I know it would be huge for their band.

i love KOL and MMJ but i think that both of them have become too big to open for pearl jam. i would really like to see some newer bands, i would love to see the national open for them. i saw them open for r.e.m. and they were really good. i wouldnt mind listening to them again.
"Change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks"
i also agree that MMJ are too big to open for PJ. MMJ fans don't want to see them play for just one hour, and there's enough of us to fill up some decent sized theaters.
i'd like to see Pearl Jam and Mudhoney kick out the jams together again.
Rocco DeLuca and the Burden - saw these guys live...the guy is hella talented and his backing band fits in perfectly...seem just like Pearl Jam's style in terms of opening band selection.
The Raconteurs - would be cool, but I can't see Jack White wasting much of his time as an opener...especially when he has two successful bands to maintain.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - it would just be badass.
The National - another new, excellent band...very Springsteen-esque at times.
My Morning Jacket - again, amazing live, but their popularity is soaring more and more everyday. A four hour set (possibly more, I forget) at Bonnaroo does that to you.
Mute Math - great live band, but perhaps too grand aspirations...this band sounds like it wants to be the next Radiohead.
Liars - saw them opening for Radiohead and it was an exciting show...don't know if they fit Pearl Jam's style, though.
The Eastern Conference All-Stars - yes, it's a real band. Just listen to their song "The Box" - it should be a huge hit...an ideal opener.
Kings of Leon - again, too big now.
Dave Matthews Band - live concert eficiandos would piss themselves.

3 and 1/2 hours if you are The Cure.
Wolfmother
Robert Randoph
I've seen all 3 live multiple times and any of them would fit perfectly.
I love Modest Mouse but I don't see them being a good fit as an opener for PJ.
