Actually we almost set a record high yesterday for Dec. 23 being 61 degrees here, it should be 20. Bernie would have had a heart attack if 2000 people would have shown up for this event, i am going to go with about 200 people, and if you count people without blue or green hair w/ multiple face piercing there would be about 100 people. We were hoping the Black Lives matter element would show since that's always good for a few more laughs and fights. I really enjoy working these types of events since the food is usually top drawer, this one was horrible. Atleast Hillary has that down pact, girls got a grip on her let me tell ya. I got to say the appearance was very entertaining and the people of in attendance were very very special and will do anything for ole Bern.
and seriously, if the only things you can knock are the food and his handshake, you are really reaching.
i am going to email his campaign and tell them that they should really be screening the cops assigned to his events.
based on your posts, it seems like the police are there not to secure the event, but are hoping for a spectacle to reinforce their racism and give them an opportunity to kick someone's ass. just like the DNC riots in chicago.
And Yes, it's always a spectacle and I get a front row seat to shitshows like this daily.0 -
LOL at all the self-proclaimed feminists out there rallying for Hillary. I admit I am a former Clintonite and for years was riding the BC train. Now I am a young woman with my future in front of me and I find myself seriously thinking about what kind of world I really want to live and work in, and what kind of world I hope future generations will live in. I think about my beautiful niece who has just started kindergarten this year, especially. I cringe at the thought of the tone set by many of the presidential candidates this cycle -- one that oozes sexism, double standards, and blatant disregard for the inequalities and injustices that women, people of color, lgbt peoples, the elderly, the poor, and the dissipating middle class has been experiencing for decades as a result of mindless leadership and lack of representation.
Our most popular candidates are red-handed and no one really seems to care. Our tolerance for the language used by Donald Trump on women is unacceptable. Our tolerance for Hillary's message is, too. Her message to women everywhere is clear without having to be said out loud: Just let patriarchy happen! Embrace patriarchy! Slut shame all the women for their actions and the mistakes they've made, but never blame the man! What kind of precedent does this set for women everywhere? Hillary Clinton wants you to believe she is for equality. And sure -- part of equality is equal rights, such as equal pay, access to healthcare, access to education and so on; but should we really put someone who reinforces the boundaries and principles of patriarchy in the oval office?
Everyone should know by now that a woman's place is in the House...and the Senate! I long to see a female president, but this person needs to be strong and take a stand against the confines that keep us numb to which way the wind blows. Hillary Clinton's hypocrisy is real. Her record is not the most consistent. She has sided with Republicans for years on key issues and has made too many mistakes. All the while, she stands by her husband and clings to the name for the sake of her own legacy and success. What she should be doing -- and what a true feminist would do in my opinion -- is separating herself from the disloyal figures in her life and prove herself to be self-sufficient -- first, in her own eyes and mind; and second, in the eyes and mind of the country, specifically the women of this nation. Hillary's message reinforces the long-lived notion that a woman needs a man to be successful in some form or fashion, and to accept the flaws of men while women continue to be scrutinized and ridiculed for the most insignificant issues; some of which are beyond any woman's or human being's control. Women are put under a microscope in our society and told what they should or shouldn't look like, think about, feel, say, and so on. Women are the most regulated entity in the history of the world. I do not want these SENSELESS obstacles to be here for another second. Each second we accept our unequal position is wasted time, and another tally mark on the whiteboard of patriarchy, and all the while we are writing in Sharpie.
The more you know!

I'm neither pro-patriarchy nor pro-matriarchy but rather pro- elect someone who works for the good of all. But that said, the fact is we do still live in a male dominated society (despite the sixties women's movement which seemed to vanish along with so much of what many of my peers once stood for) and I do support your feminist perspective and I would welcome a strong female leader in the White House. Hillary Clinton is clearly not that person.meganrose said:LOL at all the self-proclaimed feminists out there rallying for Hillary. Far enough, but I think muskydan also has too much time on his hands to be a cop, plus he just happens to be present for all these politically meaningful events as a cop and somehow manages to twist them to fit some pretty specific perspectives (not going to claim this theory all on my own. I had my suspicions, but others have expressed the same doubts about his claim). muskydan, feel free to prove I'm wrong. I will humbly accept being mistaken if you can prove you're actually some fucked up cop, but it will be a very disturbing and disappointing revelation.ldent42 said:

I do find it a little peculiar that with hundreds? thousands? of Chicago police, he gets to work all the concerts, games, and political happenings that are relevant to our discussions here....then again, I don't know much about the Chicago PD.PJ_Soul said:

Sorry i wasn't even really commenting on that particular person's employment - I haven't got a fucking clue lol- just that police offers can and do say surprisingly stupid shit publicly on the internet.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

Ok then tell us who your candidate is who will you be voting for that will have your best interest at hand ...meganrose said:LOL at all the self-proclaimed feminists out there rallying for Hillary.

I know they are kind of ideologically opposite in a lot of ways, but I would love to see Sanders and Ron Paul team up and form a 3rd party ticket and break up the 2 party system.0

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0
