I'll say this about Carney's speech and conference. Personally.. it's music to my ears but any and all Canadians should of course make sure that this man keeps his word.  However....   that said....   but......  and here's the thing....        based on what he's saying....  he has made it clear that his goals are quite honestly that of the Conservative governments goals. He addressed Polievre's complaints... without making it seem like the fucking sky was falling.

Axe the Tax.  Stop the Crime. Build the Homes.

He has now set out measurable goals to push this country of ours forward... and my challenge now to Conservatives is this:  Give this man a chance.    If he, as the PM is more than willing to govern along the same lines as a Conservative platform then what on earth could you possibly have to complain about?  There was no virtue signalling of any kind.  He addressed failures of the last government. He has agreed to slash the shit out of government wasteful spending.    LFG.
how many times did he say he will take care of things very quickly, and how he has been treated very unfairly?

that is pretty much all we hear from leadership here in the us.
No disrespect intended... you don't have leadership in America...  you have a man who I'm not sure passes as a basic, normal human being running / ruining the most powerful country in the world.
    trust me. i am aware.

just watched it. a whole lot of ambition there. I do like he had a few specific target dates instead of "we will". And I liked the mesh of liberal and conservative wants. In the middle exactly where a PM should be.

    I'm optimistic.
the targets thing is key for me. It's a good way to measure whether or not he can meet these ambitions.

So what does everyone think about these idiots in Alberta calling for separation? I guess I don't have to say anymore about what i think about them, lol.
I understand they have opinions about how the oil industry in Alberta is handled, but Holy fuck, talk about an extreme reaction. A bunch of them are even pro-51st state. And they so much thought that the Cinservatives would have made such a difference that they are now in full hysterics over the loss. The realities of a separated Alberta equate to such a laughably terrible situation for the province, I struggle to think that any of these people are really fully capable of rational thought.

I feel like they're extremists.  I lived in Alberta for 5 years and I have a hard time believing the majority of people in the cities would want to separate.   We have out version of MAGA in Canada, but I tend to think they're smaller.

I also wonder if they think about the logistics.  Like the Federal Government forced that new Transmountain Pipeline through BC, and we pretty much take the risk if there's an ocean based spill from exporting the oil.   We get almost nothing for allowing that Oil to flow, and export via our coast.   If they were a different country, they'd be landlocked, and we could probably charge a fee for all that oil that exports.

Also maybe play ball for a bit to see if the new government plans to create new export capacity, and figure out how to get Canadian oil to the East coast for domestic use?

anyone who thinks isolationism will make them stronger is a moron. The hatred for all things liberal in Alberta is strong. I have in law family in the oil patch and ho-leee-fuck did they hate JT. Even in the beginning. Before any scandals or buffoonery. Just straight up wishing him dead.

Rich blue collars. That's all I'm going to say.

    hahahaha. These people are idiots.

Rally attendee Susan Westernaier said she believed everything would be better if Alberta separated.

"We have the oil, we have the resources. We're fine," Westernaier said, noting she believed Monday's election was rigged.

A poll I saw shows that only 25% of Albertan's want to separate. I thought it would be much higher.
    2011: Vancouver
    2013: LA 1 & LA 2, Vancouver
    2018: Seattle 1 & Seattle 2
    2022: LA 1 & LA 2
    2024: Vancouver 1 & Vancouver 2, Portland, Seattle 1 & Seattle 2
    2025: Nashville 1 & 2, Raleigh 1 & 2

I actually find that surprisingly high. I figured those that legitimately want to separate would have been closer to 5-10%

I'm bummed to hear about all of this business with Alberta.  But then, I'm desperate to want places other than here to not be like us down here.  Hugely desperate for that.

Think I'll go out to Alberta
Weather's good there in the fall
I got some friends that I could go to working for
Still I wish you'd change your mind
If I ask you one more time
But we've been through this a hundred times or more

Are the Americans helping the Canadian teams win in the playoffs, are they ass hats too? White Americans as well… I wonder what party they and their families usually support… Just saying, hoping for peace with our polite neighbors.

    Born and raised Albertan.

In all my days living here I've never met anyone who wants to seperate from Canada. I know they exist, but I haven't encountered it.

And I just want to highlight that we were only about (if I remember correctly) 1300 votes away from having an NDP provincial government here last election. We are a deeply divided province.

Also, I'm embarrassed by my Premier. She didn't campaign on most of the shit she's pulling now.

Totally out of left field. Par for the course. What does this have to do with hockey? I for one was against the booing of the US anthem- it’s logically pretty stupid, given how many Americans are on the tram you cheer for. But whatever. Dividers gotta divide.
