I believe it's just the consumer part of carbon tax. Industrial carbon levy is still in place.
In BC, David Eby is scrapping it provincially. Gas prices could drop by 17 cents a litre.Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0 -

I need to retract my earlier wisecrack about Carney’s current foreign trip.
It hadn’t been included in the reporting I’d read but he was invited by Starmer(?) and Macron, and I can’t hold it against Carney for accepting an invitation.
I would like him to be in touch with Trump at the earliest opportunity (phone or face doesn’t matter to me), not sure what the holdup is.
Unfortunately at some point Carney does need to address the elephant in the room, namely his lack of a clear mandate (insert joke about underage Chinese nationals choosing our new PM, lol). I suspect he’ll string out the prorogation as long as possible then call an election the day before the House was scheduled to resume, March 23rd is when I expect the call."The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

I think making Trump wait/sweat is a power move. He knows how Trump's infantile bully mind works-this is what he would do. Trump will likely respect the fact that he made him wait. I think Carney's doing the right thing by making it clear Canada has other options, and we don't need the US as much as he/they think we do. Or it'll piss trump off and make him lash out and look like even more of a fool that he already does. Win/win in my eyes.Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0

Right now he is in France and going to visit our King privately, along with the Indigenous these are the two countries on which Canada's bedrock was built.
I don't think you need to fuel the flames with s*** that isn't true Mwhere in that is there reference to a call?its a video of your pm speaking with the press?_____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

Great resource. I can see why PP wants to defund the CBC

Liberals favoured to win most seats as poll surge continues
For the first time in nearly two years, the Liberals are projected to win more seats than the Conservatives as the party continues to enjoy a surge in the polls. The Conservatives hold a narrow lead in the polling average, which takes into account a greater number of surveys conducted over a longer period of time, but multiple polls published in recent days put the Liberals in the lead nationally. The NDP is trending down and is in danger of losing most of the seats it currently holds.0 -

I enjoy reading Kinsella almost as much as I enjoy Mulcair now that Murphy’s gone and found this column interesting. He sums it up well at the end, quoting Oscar Wilde (I’m paraphrasing, sorry): Be yourselves gentlemen, everyone else is taken.

Conservatives won't allow reporters to travel with Poilievre during upcoming election

It would be really nice to discuss the substance of the articles I post instead of having to defend the source because of others’ preconceptions. And Kinsella isn’t the typical Sun columnist in that he has primarily worked for the Liberal Party and speaks from that perspective. Personally I don’t care where insights come from as long as I gain some insight.
I thought the column presented an interesting contrast between the public personas and the private behaviours of Prime Ministers going back to Joe Clark."The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

I know this wasn’t the main point of the article, but if you hold Kinsella in such high regard, what do you make of his assertion that JT was the nicest MP in the room?Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0

It’s honestly been refreshing the last several days being able to fully acknowledge that I’m no longer governed by a guy I consider an utter jackass.
I’m still waiting for Carney to impress me and I honestly hope he does."The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

In saying that (and because this is referenced in the column), it was nice to hear that Barton was asking the questions she was, though I was quite disappointed in the PM’s reply/reaction (I like to think I wouldn’t like that response from a PM of any stripe)."The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

Gotta admit, without seeing the video, I find his responses to them almost trumpian. Not a fan.Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0

k, so I watched the video. He really didn't need to make those personal comments "look inside yourself Rosemary". WTF does that even mean? All he had to say was he was following ethics committee protocols and procedures and end it at that.Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0

Couple things to unpack here...
I don't know a lot about Carney... but what I do know A: doesn't surprise me and B: doesn't give me a lot of hope for a good leader.
That said, with regards to this questioning by journalists... I'm not sure I would consider his comments to be Trumpian thus far. He seemed frustrated and I somewhat understand that. Rosemary basically (as a journalist) drops her own personal flavour by saying that she finds it hard to believe there are no conflicts of interest with his position in government now and his positions in the private sector.
Herein lies the issues with me though... I just don't see how any person can be placed at a high level of government and not be considered to be in some sort of conflict of interest with any aspect of one's personal or past professional life. Sometimes there is certainly more smoke than others... but I think the focus moving forward should be looking at how to hold those people more accountable if and when they use that power to influence over possible personal conflicts of interest (Ahem, Trudeau.)
That said... no matter how the election plays out, I'm happy Pierre at least has more competition moving forward... but like most politicians... having another rich dude trying for office never seems to play out well. I was stoked that Trudeau was leaving and while I have hopes for Carney... even though I may be judging him unfairly... by simply having another wealthy dude vying for office.... leaves me weary once again.
