For him, in that moment it was just a room, not the House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament, I get it.
This is some pretty crazy bias showing, lol. Your reaction to that photo is extremely unreasonable. The tradition is not a deadpan one. I would say that when parliament has a better sense of humour than you do about something, it's time to reflect a little bit.
One of the only things I can give Dear Justin credit for is learning to keep his shirt on when he goes jogging, but I’m the asshole for considering that an embarrassment and beneath the office of the Prime Minister of Canada, I know. Not sure why you’d care about a funny face while he’s (or anyone) engaging in a silly tradition as the outgoing PM.I find your standards for elected officials almost akin to the stuffiness of the royal family. Just doesn’t jive in today’s society.Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0 -

Well the bar of expectations has been greatly lowered under the thankfully-departed Justin. Now the work of recovery begins.
Just remember how much you and others have chosen to lower that bar.
Fuck respecting tradition and solemnity, got it. Why have a dress code for the House while we’re at it, or is that too far, lol?"The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

Um, we didn’t lower any bar. We just think the bar is fine where it is. Like I said, I wouldn’t have given a shit if Harper had smiled in the same manner. Or PP when he’s done. It’s quite far from some fall from grace you’re depicting. If the outrage is limited to a small subset of people, their idea of the bar is likely what is skewed, not ours.Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0

Greeting to all my Canadian friends here.I would be very OK if you adopted us Californians as well as my friends and family in the states of Oregon, Washington, and Alaska (The Alaska that is moving away from Palin's Alaska). On the other hand, if said, "No way!", I would understand.Stay strong, Canada."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

I realize I’m in the minority here but in my lifetime he has been the most divisive in my opinion though I’m not old enough to remember his father’s tenure. He has stoked anti-conservative sentiments at every opportunity and has pissed on the West’s resources.

I said outrage because I feel like your reaction is out of step from the action. Not divisive. Fights for liberal values. All he’s been doing is fighting back against the “anti-woke” “liberalism is a disease” nonsense. Or he could be the limp idiots holding up ping pong paddles in the states. I’d take him over those cowards any day.Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0

So it seems that what was a rhetorical is now a serious question: why bother with such traditions like a dress code for both politicians and visitors to our houses of government?
This question isn’t just for Hugh."The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

So help me God.From time to time, I have wondered how that affects a former federal employee who want to become an ex-patriot. Could be problematic- I really don't know.Maybe I should as God? No, it’s just how I perceived it. Nothing more. The word “outrage” is just very commonly used when referring to negative reactions to current events. I wasn’t suggesting you were breaking furniture over it.There obviously is a line. Just because we disagree with your line doesn’t mean we think there should be no line at all. The “chair” tradition seems lighthearted in nature at its core anyway, so it doesn’t seem out of step to me to act lightheartedly. If he was getting knighted by the queen, I wouldn’t expect that same face, and I’d even be disappointed in it.Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0

Markey’s following in Dear Justin’s shoes when it comes to openness and transparency, one of the first things he does is wipe the posting of the PM’s itinerary from the website (it used to be a subsection under news, even earlier this morning, lol). How inspiring and does wonders to win me over.
We are getting a Carney, I hear he couldn’t wait to fire up the jet and put an ocean between him and his citizens.
Or am I showing some anti-Liberal bias I’ve been diagnosed with?

And if you say that we're lowering the bar in terms of standards... I honestly get your point.
In comparison though... the tit for tat can go both ways. Pierre being celebrated and posting a video of himself munching an apple while taking questions from a journalist (a shitty one) is also remarkably unprofessional. Then you'll say yeah but what about when JT sang while in the UK for the Queen's funeral... and I'll say yeah but what about Pierre's conduct while speaking with the press at the House of Commons. And then you'll say yeah but what about blackface and the SNC scandal.. and I'll say sure but what about Pierre's buffet of populist lies in his despicable letter from October.
Bottom line... they both suck balls. And if Pierre wanted to base his entire campaign (and he seemingly did) on portraying JT as a dooshbag... it would have behooved him to also not act like a dooshbag and associate himself with dooshbags (Jordan Peterson).
The problem the Conservatives have now is JT is out. So we only have one dooshbag left until we learn how and why Carney is a dooshbag. I don't know that is... but history dictates that he likely is and the Conservatives will find a way to let us know that he is. If they don't, they may very well lose the election that was supposed to be a landslide victory.Toronto 2000
