Yep. The trade war and anti American hostility does not affect me.

I am an American and do not appreciate getting cursed out when trying to have a reasonable discussion about this mess. I came here against the trade war and was met with hostility towards my country.

You were about to vote for a trump ally, yet you’re much better! your comments exhibit great skill to use humor to belittle my points and pretend they dont exist.

Your comments are an example of expertise at toeing the line at the rules here, not in earnest discussion.
So you can admit it’s a mess but then get offended when a Canadian critiques America?

There is a bit more bite in what we’re saying lately and that’s thanks to one person, Trump. It’s frustrating that the majority of voters chose that direction, especially knowing full well what he was capable of, chaos. No one expected the trade war and threats to take over Canada and Greenland but it’s happened and there isn’t much that can be done other than vent frustration.

Yes. I am against the trade war and was curious if anyone has picked up on what trump might be after. But the folks on this forum, and the country in general is playing the short game, forgetting trumps party can be voted out next year. Hate us all, see where it gets you. I watch CBC the national regularly.  My comments are not only local to this forum but the country in general. Most Americans aren’t even aware of the hate.

if he truly makes us an authoritarian nation than resistance to his trade war is “futile.” He would shape the continent any way he wants. So I think it may be smarter that you’d want to be our friend and influence us to vote them out next year. But….nope. Canada is smarter. Turn us all against you, that’ll work. Sure have a trade war, but don’t resort to petty attacks.

i posted a doc from a likely liberal American looking at the arctic angle. If America views the continents northern border to be a threat of invasion (key missle defense region) or Russia / china takeover for trade, should the US be powerless to have significant influence over a crucial border, with a friendly nation who is clearly ignoring trump long term? I DONT AGREE WITH THAT, BUT FIND HIS POSSIBLE REASONING INTERESTING IN A GEOPOLITICAL MANNER.

Trumps only been asking NATO members to do their share for nine years. Is that not enough time?

Just stop with the “hate us all” victim routine. JFC. Or just change your screen name to Karen and call it a day.

If you’ve been in this thread long enough, his face could have been literally any expression and some would find a way to shit on it.

Americans have been pretending to be Canadians abroad for as long as I can remember. No one cares if you feel victimized. Reasonable Americans understand why. Others just want to be victims.

Only one person and trump understand what he’s doing, apparently. Maybe give our new PM a call. You could have a lucrative new career!

Right around the time Putin on the ritz might have let him know there’s a PTAPE. COOTWH couldn’t have spelled NATO if you spotted him the N, A and O nor tell you what NATO does, why or how.

This forum has been rude towards Americans since trump started this trade war. On an American website where almost no one voted for trump. Thanks for your politeness.
I think you might be misinterpreting or taking the criticism of America personal. It seems to have started when someone said the US is a shitshow. I didn’t read that as the people, but what the country is doing - destroying alliances, allowing an unelected billionaire oligarch fire hundreds of thousands of people, gutting the VA and education systems, the list goes on. I can only speak from my perspective but my issue isn’t with Americans, it’s with America. Unfortunately when the leader of the country does what he is doing, it represents the country as a whole. The same can be said for Russia. Putin is an asshole, Russia a shitshow but I’m sure there are lots of great people there who don’t agree with his actions.
    nothing new.

    criticize israel's government: ANTI SEMITE
support palestinians right not to be blown to bits: PRO HAMAS
    criticize US government: RUDE CANADIANS

Woman Yelling at a Cat Know Your Meme

A broken clock is more accurate than these comments. The complaint is y’all are attacking “Americans” not “trump” nor “trump voters.” Nice interpretations of my comments.

    RUDE CANADIANS
most of America who is sleepwalking into a dictatorship.”
wondered last night if Americans realize that the only people that like Americans are Americans and even they don't even like most Americans”
Unfucking believable. I don't give a fuck what we have in common with Greenland. “

    PRO HAMAS, ANTI SEMITE
Have you or anyone here spent one minute complaining about Muslim atrocities and deaths in Syria or china or elsewhere? The extreme left on amt seems to only have an issue with one problem country. Yes Israel. I’ve said wonder why and they need to negotiate peace. Got cursed out and screamed at for those suggestions. But nice commenting pal. Nearly No one supports steps needed for peace on this forum and Y’all put interesting words to my comments. Wonder why.

Yes y’all are above it all up north. Y’all would have voted for a huge trump ally had he waited a few months to start his trade war. But y’all are better. We get it.

Do you equate all Palestinians with Hamas?

    yes or no.

previous statements leave a strong impression.

    I do not.

Because you and I don't remember how angry everyone was when this movie was released, doesn't mean that people weren't angry when this movie was released.

The film was widely criticized for its use of make-up to make a white actor appear African American, which many compared to blackface.

Members of the NAACP spoke out against the film and an African American student group at UCLA organized a picket of a cinema screening Soul Man.

NAACP Chapter President Willis Edwards said in a statement at the time, "We certainly believe it is possible to use humor to reveal the ridiculousness of racism. However the unhumorous and quite seriously made plot point of Soul Man is that no black student could be found in all of Los Angeles who was academically qualified for a scholarship geared to blacks."

Are you actually comparing a 1986 Hollywood comedy with the actions of a man who became Prime Minister and forgot how many times he dressed up in black face? Incredible

What year did he do it?

The point I’m making is that you judge people by the morals of their day, not the morals of today. It’s called historical perspective and a very basic tenet for historians.

Think anyone around here called their friends gay, fag, retard in the 80s and 90s?  I’m guessing yes. Should we shun them, fire them from their jobs and socially outcast them? My vote is no. But these are the things that kill the left. They became the new Puritans over the past decade.

Did you actually read these articles? There’s not a word about blank face being the issue. The criticism is the premise that there’s no black qualified students. That’s a totally different angle.

Admittedly I didn’t read the Sentinel article because it’s pay walled. Do you actually subscribe to the Sentinel or just posting links?

Your post is: Remember how angry everyone was when this movie was released? Neither do I.

My response was to that post. People were angry when this movie was released .

I do not subscribe to The Orlando Sentinel, or the LA Times, but posted their links.

Justin Trudeau really did bring dignity to the office of the Prime Minister, didn’t he?

At least he’s not wearing blackface or Indian cos play

Remember how angry everyone was when this movie was released?   Neither do I.

See Sir John A McDonald / Henry Dundas

I meant about the black face, the point of the discussion.
