BTW a raffle isn't a terrible idea, although perhaps ambitious, and Im not sure how comfortable I would be with people pitching in $500 or even $250 for a chance to win, naturally $500 would need 90 entrants and having 89 folk drop $500 might sit a little uneasy with me personally. I know the excitement would be there but that's a lot of money to me, so would need some serious thought

of course if people were absolutely comfortable doing that, then its something to consider, and I would be happy to organise
  • No black wave EV lighter? Pffffft!!!

It's nice and I would break it up to ease the sale. Dibs on the Monkeywrench Radio, the VS 12" sampler, both Blue fixers and the German promos :)

  • Well...since we're circling like vultures..I call dibs on the EV lighters if the collection is in fact broken up.

How is everyone a guaranteed winner? Are you splitting?
I am for all or nothing. Otherwise I would choose to pick what I spend my $250 on.

I think this is the best option, can't say I would do it, but I would at least consider it.

You could have a draw still where first name drawn gets first pick etc... Not sure I am enough of a gambler to go all or nothing.

That's what I said before. Let's buy it as a group or do a raffle where everybody wins.
All or nothing with $100 tickets or more is too risky for me.

lets not get too caught up on a raffle. Its most unlikely in the grand scheme of things.

If this opens up down the line I'll amend the thread to note that but for now the intention is to sell to one buyer. I may need to look further afield but I always like to bring things here first.

Man, I wish I had 45k. Awesome looking collection over on the site, I just signed up this morning a lot of cool stuff there!

Anything autographed in the collection Paul? I'm still hunting for PJ autographs, I refuse to go the ebay route.

Also, what is the story behind Freak and Give Way? Are they really that rare? I'm not in the know when it comes to some of this stuff

freak was a sony japan promo - its been reported to be limited to 500 copies but im not sure anyone truly knows. IMO its one of the best promos out there, that packaging is amazing.

Giveway is another mystery, definitely rarer than freak. Was a giveaway Cd with the release of SVT in best buy stores. It was cancelled and recalled before it was sold however - apparently the day before but not before many were snaffled and leaked. One of those items that shouldn't really be in existence so no one really knows how many escaped the furnace

He has a few auto'd items but I believe they are on his walls and he wishes to keep.

Would a poster possibly be up your street?
  • Thanks Paul, I never knew what the frenzy was about when it came to those cds. Its cool to pick up new info on this stuff though, its like a history lesson lol

Sure I would be interested. I mostly collect posters, though I've been getting the itch to jump into collecting everything and it feels like it would be a hell of a roller coaster ride chasing down most of these items. I'm impressed by the dedication you hardcore collectors have

Man, what would the customs fees look like on this deal? Let alone I dont think you could insure that shipment for that much. I would be sweating out the safe arrival of that package after dropping 40K+...

With that said. I would love to own this stuff!!

I didn't win the $63 Million Lotto 6/49 on Saturday, so unfortunately, I'm out. :(

I would imagine that the buyer would probably make some pretty serious shipping arrangements, such as an actual shipping container. It would likely cost at least a couple thousand more dollars to ensure proper shipping... but at that point, what's the difference, right? As for customs.... I have no clue how you figure out what those might be for whatever country the buyer lives in. Could be pretty huge. Like in the $6000 - $7000 range??

Yeah, may be cheaper for the buyer to just fly to Germany and pick the stuff up and pack it up and take it back on the airplane with them. Only cost is plane ticket. Also the customs conversation could be awkward.

Customs agent: "Do you have anything to declare?"
Me: "I just landed the mother-lode of Pearl Jam collections!!"
Customs agent: "Ok, psycho, move along now."

    WOW.

I think the person that buys this might have to sail his/her yacht or fly a private jet to Germany to pick it up personally.

    after weekend bump.

Giving this another week maybe before full consideration will be given to breaking it down into categories.

If anyone is interested in that move, please let me know which categories were of interest and I'll keep some notes handy my end.

I envisage any such sale taking place on the basis that entire categories are purchased before the collection starts to actually sell. The intention always has been to sell everything In one go, multiple buyers are fine and probably make pulling the trigger that little bit easier, as long as it all sells.

I will likely at that stage make multiple threads, one for each category.

If that sale doesn't happen, I think it can open up to individual items, that is a last option really. But the spreadsheet has been uploaded now for all to see on Collectionzz.com, at the moment its locked for editing. but once such a sale starts I would propose to open the sheet up for editing, whereby people can reserve items, and once reserved that item can be locked from future editing.

Keep your eye on this thread

  • Paul, it seems like only the overview sheet is visible on the spreadsheet, I get blank pages when I try to open any of the detail sections.
